Kawasaki has lifted the wraps off their refreshed 250 lineup – the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and the Z20. The new models essentially focus on the aesthetics, offering a much-needed fresh look to the brand’s entry-level offering, with little to no changes on the mechanical front.
2026 Kawasaki Ninja 250
The Ninja 250 is Kawasaki’s entry-level faired supersports bike, offering a very competitive mechanical package for its segment. For the 2026 model, the beloved quarter-litre super sports is offered with exciting new colour schemes and graphics.

The 2026 Ninja 250 comes with a few exciting dual-tone colour schemes, such as Metallic SparkBlack/Metallic Flat Spark Black, Lime Green/Ebony, Candy Crimson Red/Metallic Flat Spark Black, and Pearl Storm White/Metallic Spark Black. These colour schemes, along with an updated graphic design, give the Ninja 250 a striking new look.
With regards to the overall design, the 2026 Ninja 250 by and large is the same as the outgoing model. These include twin LED headlamps with integrated LED position lamps, a sculpted fuel tank, and upswept exhaust. The bike comes with an updated semi-digital instrument console which the gear position, clock, speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, odometer, and fuel efficiency readings.
2026 Kawasaki Z250
Essentially, the Z250 is a Naked version of the Ninja 250; it shares a similar frame and suspension to the Ninja 250. The Z250 design follows the Iconic Sugomi philosophy shared by Kawasaki’s bigger streetfighter models in the lineup, which is notable for its sharp lines and low slung posture.
The 2026 Kawasaki Z250 shares the same features as the Ninja 250, but with its distinctive design, such as the new updated LCD that features a needle-type tachometer. Apart from that, the Kawasaki Z250 comes with a single colour option – Ebony with Metallic Carbon Grey with updated graphics.

Mechanically, it has been reported that the underpinnings and engine units are similar to the ongoing models without many changes. The 2026 Ninja 250 and the Z250 get a 248cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel 2-cylinder engine that generates 35 PS and 22 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
Availabiltiy
As is the norm for Kawasaki with their entry-level models, the Initial release of the models will commence from the Asian markets by the end of this year, where such models are popular, and from there on, the updated models will reach the global markets for Europe, North America, and other regions by the end of mid-quarter of the next year.
