2023 is an exciting year for Al Futtaim Toyota & Lexus

We sit down with the senior management at Al Futtaim Toyota & Lexus

Al Futtaim Toyota & Lexus are household names in the UAE. Most people, when they bought their first car, it was a Toyota or Lexus.

No other brand commands loyalty, resale, respect and reliability more than Toyota & Lexus.

A few days ago, we met with Jacques Brent, Managing Director, Al-Futtaim Toyota & Lexus, at their beautiful Intersect by Lexus restaurant, located in the heart of the financial district of DIFC in Dubai.

The discussion topics were for the media to get introduced to Jacques and understand what the year ahead looks like for Toyota & Lexus.

Post-pandemic, the auto industry was suffering from a logistics nightmare. Now in 2023, they can come to terms with it and solve it so deliveries are available in a timely fashion.

During this time, there was a massive backlog for brands to clear, and only now most of them can solve the issue and return to some sense of normalcy.

The year ahead is complicated for most, with rising inflation and interest rates impacting auto sales. However, Al Futtaim is bullish and predicted a stable market with strong consumer demand until 2024.

Another exciting development for Toyota in the region is the coming in of some GR-branded products. The Yaris GR, launched two years ago in European markets, caused a big storm in the area. GR stands for Gazoo Racing, their performance division in charge of racing cars and road-going performance. This hype saw people importing cars from various countries to enjoy the car in the region.

Toyota also was happily surprised at the feedback they got from the audience for their Motorsports Academy, which had also become a TV show. This is where Toyota invited participants to compete in a reality-based off-roading competition. Participants underwent rigorous and multiple tests to check their mental and physical fortitude and driving prowess.

This school and the show got a very positive response from the audience, and Toyota plans to continue it.

Overall, it seems like an exciting year ahead for AL Futtaim Toyota & Lexus. We wish them the best of luck.
