The wait is over! Volkswagen has officially opened pre-bookings for the all-new Tiguan R-Line in India, and it’s every bit as exciting as you’d expect. With aggressive ‘R’ styling, premium interiors, and a slew of high-tech features, this flagship SUV is built for those who demand performance, luxury, and cutting-edge design.
Striking ‘R’ DNA
The Tiguan R-Line makes a powerful first impression with its bold and aggressive stance. The front end features LED Plus headlamps flanked by an illuminated light bar, creating a distinct road presence. A glass-covered horizontal strip seamlessly integrates with the redesigned grille, while the sporty R-Line bumper adds a muscular touch. The aerodynamic air curtains ensure optimal airflow, enhancing efficiency while keeping the SUV planted at high speeds.
But the statement doesn’t end there. The silhouette of the Tiguan R-Line is defined by sharp character lines and an athletic shoulder profile, leading to the stunning 19-inch ‘Coventry’ diamond-turned alloy wheels. At the rear is an animated 3D LED combination lamp with a dynamic light signature.
Powering the R-Line is VW’s tried and tested 2.0-litre turbo-petrol inline-4 producing 201.2hp & 320Nm. This is 13.8hp higher than the VW Tiguan Elegance it replaces. A 7-speed DCT transmission drives all four wheels.

Pre-Bookings & Launch Timeline
The Volkswagen Tiguan was first launched in India back in 2021. It was offered in a single full-loaded variant named Elegance. 2024 saw the arrival of the third-gen VW Tiguan in several international markets. VW India is now set to introduce this third generation and will only be bringing the top-spec R-Line trim to the market.
Pre-bookings for the new VW Tiguan R-Line are now open at www.volkswagen.co.in and at your nearest VW dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly after the launch on 14 April 2025.
