After a gap of more than ten years, Turkish Airlines has resumed services to Misrata with direct flights from its hub, Istanbul. In January 2015, the Turkish flag carrier suspended services to the third-largest city in Libya. After deciding to restart the direct connection between Istanbul and Misrata, the first flight took off and landed on September 2, 2025.
Turkish Airlines will operate the newly reinstated route thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flight number TK 1145 will depart from Turkey’s capital at 11:30 and arrive in Misrata at 14:25. The return leg, bearing flight number TK 1146, will commence and conclude its journey at 16:25 and 19:15, respectively. A Boeing 737-78D narrowbody will ferry passengers on both sectors. All times mentioned are local. With this route now active, Turkish Airlines serves 62 destinations across Africa.
Misrata, located in the northwest of Libya, is one of the country’s most developed centres of industry and commerce. The Port of Misrata ranks amongst the most important maritime transport hubs in North Africa.
Turkish Airlines is running a sweet deal for those who purchase their tickets by September 9, 2025, and are travelling anytime on or before November 30, 2025. Travellers can fly from Istanbul to Misrata in as little as USD 349. Those travelling in the opposite direction can do so for USD 249.
