The Defender Octa Is Heading To Goodwood

You probably know by now that on July 3, 2024, the Defender Octa will shed its camo. While that’s something to look forward to, especially for fans of the breed, JLR has announced that the new top-tier model will also be present at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs between July 11 and July 14, 2024. In short, that’s where the Defender Octa will make its dynamic world premiere.

The Defender section will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the all-terrain capability of the 4x4 over a purpose-built obstacle course. That’s not all. Younger attendees aged between four and ten can also be part of the action in mini-Defenders.

The Range Rover section will display at least five vehicles – Range Rover SV Burford Edition, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Evoque and a specimen of the original Range Rover from 1970. A modern-day Range Rover SV will also put on a show climbing the hill.

The Discovery area will showcase variants of the Discovery and Discovery Sport, along with an example of the original Discovery from 1989. One of 14 meticulously restored and uprated examples by Jaguar Classic will be displayed in the Jaguar section. It will be a racing-inspired E-Type ZP Edition, while a 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours winner – the Jaguar XJR-9 LM – from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust will be driven up the hill. Another Jaguar that will attempt the hillclimb on July 12 and 13, 2024, will be a Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E racecar.
