At the 2025 New York International Auto Show, amidst a sea of electric crossovers and SUVs, one machine stood out, especially to Porsche enthusiasts. Tedson Motors revealed the Gulf Blue Dream Edition, based on the beloved 964-generation Porsche 911, as a full-blown ode to air-cooled performance and the 911’s heritage.
Following up on their celebrated commission for Michael Strahan last year, Tedson has once again delivered a car that combines old-school analogue spirit with cutting-edge modern performance in a way few builders have even dared to attempt. The iconic Gulf Blue shade and signature Gulf Orange stripe only make this latest addition to the brand’s Daydream series more desirable.
More Than Just A Pretty Face
Tedson’s Gulf Blue Dream isn’t some garage queen showpiece. It’s engineered to be driven hard and fast. Beneath the jaw-dropping, full-carbon fibre widebody lies a thoroughly reimagined 911 chassis, complete with a widened track and remastered suspension geometry inspired by the modern GT2.
At the rear is a hand-built 4.0-litre air-cooled flat-six, which is a heavily upgraded take on Porsche’s legendary 3.6L unit. It now breathes easier, spins faster, and produces more power thanks to motorsport-grade internals. The brand hasn’t revealed just how much power it produces in this particular car. However, going by what the brand has produced in the past, it’s safe to assume an output of over 385hp. Maybe even 533hp, if equipped with Tedson’s unique hybrid system that involved an electric motor-powered flywheel.
Tedson has paired it with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential, ensuring that every gear change and corner exit feels raw, mechanical, and deeply satisfying. No paddleshifters, no Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, no filters — just pure, visceral driving. Oh, and in case you’re wondering? The titanium exhaust tips sticking out from the rear diffuser aren’t just for show. Expect this machine to howl and sing its flat-six symphony all the way to the redline.
Proactive Suspension: Old Soul, Modern Moves
Tedson knew that slapping a bigger engine and widebody onto an old chassis design wasn’t enough. To truly deliver on the promise of a modernized classic, the Gulf Blue Dream rides on a Proactive adaptive suspension system that dynamically adjusts to the road or track beneath it.
Combined with updated RS uprights and GT2 components, this 911 slices corners with incredible precision. It’s light, nimble, and sharp, yet it preserves that essential air-cooled feel — you still get all the feedback, the chatter, and the sense of being connected to the machine.
Retro Looks & An Iconic Paint Job
Visually, the Gulf Blue Dream Edition is pure motorsport nostalgia turned up to eleven. Finished in Paint-To-Sample Gulf Blue with Gulf Orange racing stripes and matching Fuchs-inspired wheels, this is as iconic as it gets.
Every detail, from the vented front hood to the ducktail rear spoiler, has been crafted to enhance aerodynamics and cooling. Wide carbon side skirts complete the silhouette, emphasizing the car’s planted stance without losing the classic 911 shape.
It’s got Nappa leather, woven leather seat inserts, retro rivets, and milled aluminum accents everywhere you look. A handmade roll cage and a four-point harness scream motorsport, while a short-shifter topped with a wooden knob is a nice tribute to old-school racers. Custom dashboard dials and a centre-mounted clock tie it all together.
One For The True Enthusiasts
While other builders in the booming restomod world are busy making 911s prettier and more powerful, Tedson is doing something far more ambitious: making them better. They’re building cars that can be redlined, heel-toed, and Senna-throttled around a corner.
