TAG Heuer will return to the 4th Edition of Icons of Porsche festival, which will be held in Dubai during 23-24 November, 2024. TAG Heuer will feature a larger and more impressive presence at the festival. Icons of Porsche promises to be an “unforgettable weekend of world premieres, art, live shows, and more.”

TAG Heuer’s relationship with Porsche goes back to 1961, “when Jack Heuer was fascinated by the Carrera Panamericana race in Mexico and chose to name his 1963 chronograph Carrera, after the evocative race.”  TAG Heuer has kept this long-standing relationship alive by recently unveiling two Porsche inspired watches.

The Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 is a skeleton dial watch featuring a chronograph. The Porsche 963 inspires it. It is a LMDh (Le Mans Daytona Hybrid) sports prototype racing car, featuring Porsche design elements in its dial, case, and bracelet. The colours of Porsche motorsport – white, red, and black – were selected for the watch. It is powered by in-house automatic bi-directional calibre Heuer 02 (ref. TH20-00). Its winding rotor resembles a Porsche steering wheel. It is a limited edition of 963 pieces.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana

A modern grand complication inspired by an automotive icon. Third image: Winding rotor resembles a Porsche steering wheel. Fourth to sixth image: Porsche 550 Spyder (Image credit: Porsche website).

The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana is a skeleton dial watch featuring a chronograph and a tourbillon. The legendary Porsche 550 Spyder from 1954 inspires it. It features a few of the Porsche 550 Spyder’s design details as found on its wheels and livery – “distinctive silver, yellow, and black colour palette.”  It is powered by the in-house automatic TH20-09 tourbillon movement, COSC-certified. Its winding rotor resembles a Porsche steering wheel. It is a limited edition of 255 pieces.

TAG Heuer will feature an “expanded two-story pavilion,” at the festival. The pavilion will include:

“An immersive experience to guests.”

– TAG Heuer’s latest watches and details of past collaborations, including special pieces from their archives.

– It will display both the – Porsche 963 and Porsche 550 Spyder – “motorsport icons” – which inspired two namesake TAG Heuer watches.

“One of the Pavilion’s key highlights is the Reaction Wall game, along with guests getting the chance to compete with Formula E World Champion, Pascal Wehrlein.”

– A lounge area for guests to relax.

The festival will feature “artwork installations from renowned artists, live music from local musicians, celebrity appearances and popular food and beverage vendors.”

Our Thoughts

Great to see TAG Heuer return to Icons of Porsche. Porsche is an iconic name in the automotive world with a cult global following. TAG Heuer’s presence at this festival makes it so much more interesting for fans of both brands. The festival promises to be a blast.
