REVISED 2024 PEUGEOT 208 AND 2008 SUV MODELS UNVEILVED FOR UAE; PRICES START AT AED 90,000 APPROX.

Revamped PEUGEOT 208 hatchback and 2008 SUV models have been unveiled for the UAE market, featuring a more refined exterior design, new cabin features and a new electric motor option for the 2008 SUV.

2024 PEUGEOT 208 highlights

The PEUGEOT 208, a favourite in Europe’s car market, has been refreshed in a hope to attract more buyers to the sub-compact car segment. Exterior revisions include a stylized black grille with body-colour inserts, full LED headlamps featuring a distinctive night-specific signature with 3-claw vertical DRLs, new horizontally oriented rear LED lamp details, and a glossy black rear skirt. The 208 runs on 17-inch alloy wheels. Available exterior colours include Vertigo Blue, Selenium Grey, Artense Grey, Elixir Red, Banquise White and Black Perla Nera. On the inside, the 208 boasts a leather steering wheel and a customisable ambient lighting system with 8 colour options. Other available features include 7 “piano” toggle switches, a 10-inch HD colour touchscreen, wireless charger, automatic climate control and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, it features include 4 airbags, Lane Keep Assist and a Parking Assist System.

The refreshed 208 comes powered by a Euro6 1.2L turbo, 3-cylinder engine which outs out 130 horses and 230 Nm of peak torque, that is directed to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission (with manual mode).

2024 PEUGEOT 2008 SUV highlights

PEUGEOT’s latest 2008 range too gets a revised 2024 YM model to add an extra dose of French flavour to the compact SUV market. Exterior highlights include with 3-claw vertical DRLs, a shiny black roof, LED Rear lamps with claw effect and 18-inch alloy wheels. Available exterior paint schemes include Selenium Grey, Artense Grey, Black Perla Nera, Okenite White, Elixir Red, Vertigo Blue. While cabin comfort is augmented thanks to a 10-inch HD colour touchscreen, optional electric & massage seat for driver, automatic headlamps and wipers. It gets a configurable 3D head-up display and wireless charging also. As for safety features it includes 6 airbags, adaptive ESP, front and rear parking sensors, Blind Spot Detection etc.

The refreshed 2008 SUV also gets the same Euro6 1.2L Turbo, 3-cylinder engine with a claimed fuel economy figure is between 5.2 and 7.7 l/100km. The new e-2008 model comes with an electric motor, which produces 154 hp (115 kW) with a range of 406 kms, as per the Stellantis website. The estimated recharge times for the new electric motor is 30 minutes from a 20% to 80% capacity when a 100 kW public charging point is used. One can also recharge the battery in 4 hours and 40 minutes from a Wall Box (7.4 kW) and in 11 hours and 10 minutes from a reinforced socket (3.2 kW). Peugeot guarantees 8 years or 160,000 km, for the Lithium-ion 54 kW battery.

Prices for both models start at roughly AED 90,000 plus VAT.
