Qatar Airways Is Launching More Flights To Saudi Arabia

The airline confirms Hail as its 13th destination in KSA, and an increase in flights to Jeddah and Riyadh.

What is changing, and when does the change take effect?

From January 5, 2026, Qatar Airways will operate three weekly return flights between Doha and Hail International Airport (HAS). The new service adds the 13th Saudi city on the carrier’s map and coincides with an increase in frequencies to Jeddah and Riyadh from six to seven daily flights.

What are the flight timings for Hail?

Qatar Airways will operate direct flights between Doha and Hail on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flight QR1228 will depart from Qatar’s capital at 14:20 and arrive at its destination at 16:30. The return leg, QR1229, will leave Hail at 17:30 and reach Doha at 19:25.

Why is Qatar Airways expanding in Saudi Arabia?

The move strengthens regional connectivity as demand rises across business, leisure and religious travel segments. It follows recent growth, including the resumption of Abha services and the launch of flights to The Red Sea. The additional frequencies feed Hamad International Airport’s hub, improving onward access to more than 170 global destinations.

How will travellers benefit?

Passengers in Saudi Arabia will have more schedule options, shorter connections, and more seat availability for inbound and outbound flights. Privilege Club members earn Avios on flights and Qatar Duty Free, redeemable for travel and lifestyle experiences.

What does this mean for Qatar Airways and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia?

The expansion affirms Qatar Airways’ commitment to the Kingdom and highlights Hamad International as a transfer hub, with over 150 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia supporting tourism, business, and pilgrimage.
