Qatar Airways and Air Algérie now have a Codeshare Agreement

Complementing the existing interline partnership, the new agreement allows passengers to connect more easily between Algeria and key markets in Asia and the Middle East via Doha’s Hamad International Airport.

What does the agreement do?

The codeshare, already live for bookings and travel beginning November 15, 2025, links each airline’s network, allowing passengers to book single itineraries across both carriers. It builds on an existing interline partnership and simplifies connections at the Doha hub.

Which destinations are included?

Qatar Airways will sell seats to Algiers and six domestic Air Algérie destinations: Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun, and Tindouf. Air Algérie will provide connections via Hamad International Airport to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Muscat, with more destinations to be added later.

How do frequent-flyer benefits work?

Members of Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club will accumulate Avios when booking codeshare flights operated by Air Algérie, expanding loyalty benefits throughout the partners’ networks.

Why are the airlines doing this?

Both carriers aim to enhance passenger options and expand network reach. Qatar Airways highlights stronger links between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia via its award-winning hub. Meanwhile, Air Algérie seeks to boost its regional profile and traffic through Algiers.

What does this mean for travellers?

Passengers enjoy better connections, increased booking choices, and the opportunity to earn loyalty points on partner services. This arrangement also promotes broader travel and tourism exchanges between Algeria and major markets in Asia and the Middle East.

Qatar Airways currently offers extensive flights across Africa and has multiple interline and codeshare partnerships that complement this new agreement.
