Paris Air Show 2025: Airbus Strikes New Deal With AviLease

The initial order is for 10 A350F freighters and 30 A320neo family jets.

At the Paris Air Show 2025, Airbus and AviLease, an aircraft lessor headquartered in Saudi Arabia, struck a deal. The initial order comprises 10 Airbus A350F freighters and 30 A320neo family aircraft. However, the inked agreement mentions a future increment to those numbers, which can jump to 22 for the freighters and 55 for the narrowbody family jets.

AviLease has placed an order with Airbus for the first time, making the lessor a new client for the European aircraft manufacturer. Airbus claims that the A350F has the industry’s largest main deck cargo door, while the fuselage’s length and capacity have been kept in check with the industry’s standard pallets and container sizes. Compared to a direct rival, the A350F offers a 46-tonne lighter take-off weight, thanks to the airframe that’s been built mainly using advanced lightweight materials. At the same time, the aircraft provides performance efficiency that is enough to meet ICAO’s enhanced CO2 emissions standards that will be enforced in 2027.

The A320neo Family, on the other hand, has nothing to prove. It is the most popular choice in the single-aisle segment globally. With design improvements and new-gen engines, the A320neo offers 20 per cent fuel savings.
