Panerai launches a new Navy SEALs inspired watch collection
The Submersible QuarantaQuattro Navy SEALs, Submersible QuarantaQuattro GMT Navy SEALs Carbotech™, Submersible Navy SEALs Titanio, and Submersible Chrono Navy Seals Titanio continue to honour the elite United States Navy SEALs.

Panerai has launched a new Navy SEALs inspired watch collection. Panerai’s is no stranger to military watches, as its own history is linked with the Italian military. These new watches take inspiration from the United States Navy SEALs. Short for Sea, Air and Land, they are an elite special operations force of the United States Navy. The four watches are:

– Submersible QuarantaQuattro GMT Navy SEALs Carbotech™.
– Submersible Navy SEALs Titanio.
– Submersible Chrono Navy SEALs Titanio.
Submersible QuarantaQuattro Navy SEALs
Key features of the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Navy SEALs include:
Functions: Central hours and minutes. Small seconds (9 o’clock). Calculation of immersion time (bezel with graduated scale). Stop-seconds for precise time setting.
Dial: Degrade black to Anthracite. Beige Super-LumiNova® hour and minute hands, hour markers, markers on small seconds subdial, and circular dot at 12 o’clock on bezel. Green emission, except for minute hand and dot on bezel, which are blue emission.
Movement: Powered by mechanical automatic P.900 calibre. 12 ½ lignes. 4.20 mm thick. 171 components. 23 jewels. 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Incabloc® anti-shock device. One barrel. Power reserve 3 days.
Case: Made from brushed AISI 316L stainless steel, 44 mm diameter. Unidirectional rotating bezel made from AISI 316L stainless steel featuring a graduated scale. Solid caseback, screwed to the case, made from AISI 316L stainless steel. Crown guard at 3 o’clock registered trademark of Panerai.
Water Resistance: 30 bar or approximately 300 metres.

Our Thoughts
Panerai has not made these four watches for the Navy SEALs. Rather, they have infused the Navy SEALs “essence or special forces operations DNA” – as much as realistically possible – into these four watches. They would require the permission of the Navy SEALs to use their name. “NAVY SEALS” is displayed on each of the four dials at 6 o’clock, and their casebacks engraved with the Trident, the Navy SEALs official symbol.
Actual watches used by military units and special forces is a different topic altogether. Recently we covered the MILGRAPH, a military inspired watch from Norway’s MICROMILSPEC, who specialise in watches for customers.
Each of the four watches is unmistakably a Panerai – big, rugged, reliable, badass, and ready for any adventure. They will appeal hugely to collectors who appreciate military or military inspired watches. My personal favourite is the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Navy SEALs.
