Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster Revealed: A Roofless Ode To Elegance And Excess

When Pagani announces a new special edition, you’d better sit up and take notice. For over three decades, the artisans at Pagani have churned out masterpieces that effortlessly fuse raw performance with unmatched artistry. Some of Pagani’s most celebrated creations arrive after the main production run ends — the Zonda being the prime example. And now, the Huayra is following suit.

Meet the Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster — a roofless, refined, and utterly ravishing interpretation of the Codalunga coupe from 2022. This is more than just another open-top version; it’s a hand-crafted, purpose-built tribute to those who view the hypercar not just as a performance machine, but as a rolling sculpture — timeless and poetic.

An Open-Air Tribute To Purity

Inspired by the race cars of the 1950s and ’60s, the Codalunga Speedster isn’t about track records or Nürburgring lap times. It’s about the art of motion — the elegance of form in pursuit of aerodynamic purity. The Speedster strips away excess. Gone are the dramatic aero appendages. Instead, every line, curve, and vent has been sculpted to whisper through the air with minimal resistance.

The silhouette is longer, sleeker, and more fluid than any Pagani before it. When the panoramic hardtop is in place, it forms a seamless, uninterrupted line from nose to tail. When removed, the Speedster becomes a raw, windswept dream.

10 Units Only — Crafted By Grandi Complicazioni

As with all Pagani greats that push the limits of possibility, the Codalunga Speedster is born from the Grandi Complicazioni division — Pagani’s bespoke skunkworks. Only ten of these speedsters will ever exist, each one shaped around a personal dialogue between client and creator. Deliveries are set to begin in 2026, and unsurprisingly, each one is already spoken for.

Design That Transcends Time

The Codalunga Speedster inherits much from its coupe sibling, yet adds its own bold identity. The lower, more curved windshield and revised side windows enhance the low-slung, tapered silhouette. Classic inspiration flows through every surface: the slim headlights are subtly embedded, the taillights appear to float, the diffuser integrates aerodynamic fins that slice through air like sculpture.

The polycarbonate roof, when mounted, resembles a perfectly formed drop — a tribute to vintage Le Mans prototypes. The roll bar is more than just a safety feature — it’s a visual bridge between interior and exterior, carried through in color and shape.

Perhaps the biggest visual twist is the six-outlet exhaust system. With four pipes ceramic-coated up top and two low-mounted titanium pipes, it redefines the brand’s signature exhaust motif — and sounds like thunder wrapped in velvet.

A Cabin Of Couture & Carbon

Open the traditionally hinged doors and step into a cockpit that fuses haute couture with motorsport minimalism. Hand-hammered, hand-stitched leathers mingle with solid-milled aluminum and exposed carbon fibre. The level of craftsmanship borders on obsessive.

One standout feature is the embroidered fabric draping the seats, doors, and console. Originally developed for fashion runways, it’s inspired by Pagani’s iconic four-exhaust pattern. Over 450,000 individual stitches form a rhythmic, hypnotic pattern that elevates the cabin into the realm of wearable art.

The manual gear shifter and steering wheel are tributes to motorsport’s golden era — complete with mahogany inserts and aluminum rivets, shaped and polished by hand. It’s tactile, analog, and alive — a counterpoint to today’s digital, sterile supercars.

V12 Heart, Manual Soul

Beneath that elongated tail lies a 5,980cc, 60-degree twin-turbo Pagani V12 developed in partnership with Mercedes-AMG. It churns out 864 horsepower and 1,100Nm of torque, launching the car with effortless brutality.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed Xtrac gearbox, available in both Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) and — joy of joys — a pure manual. Pagani knows some drivers still crave the satisfying click-clack of metal gates and the connection only a stick can provide. The soundtrack? Courtesy of a titanium exhaust system that not only cuts weight but sings with a pitch-perfect howl that could make angels weep.

As poetic as the Codalunga Speedster may seem, it’s still a Pagani — and that means it’s engineered to perfection. The Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax monocoque keeps things featherlight and ultra-rigid. The forged-aluminum suspension adapts to every bump and apex with active damping. Braking duties are handled by Pagani by Brembo carbon-ceramic discs: 410mm at the front, 390mm at the rear.

Monolithic avional wheels are shod in Pirelli Trofeo R tires, ensuring grip levels that defy physics. The result is a driving experience that’s both thrilling and tranquil — violent acceleration married to ballet-like agility.

A Legend In The Making

It’s an homage to an era where racing cars were beautiful, emotional, and dangerously fast. With just 10 units being built, this Speedster will go down as one of Pagani’s most sought-after creations.
