Oris unveils the New York Harbor Limited Edition II

Oris has introduced the New York Harbor Limited Edition II, a watch that supports the Billon Oyster Project. Founded by two educators – Pete Malinowski and Murray Fisher in 2014 – the Billion Oyster Project is a non-profit organisation that aims to return one billion oysters back to New York Harbor. Oris’s partnership with them goes back to 2022 when they unveiled a limited edition watch to help raise funds for them.

“Billion Oyster Project has now restored more than 150 million oysters to New York Harbor and worked with more than 15,000 volunteers and 30,000 students. “It’s not just about the oysters. It’s about fostering environmental stewardship through education, public engagement and community science.”” – Pete Malinowski, Billion Oyster Project Co-founder.

The New York Harbor Limited Edition II is Oris’s second act to support and raise funds for this initiative. It is based on the Aquis Date model and is a limited edition of 2,000 pieces. Proceeds from sales will go towards the project.

“The ecological challenge can feel overwhelming. But when we work together, it gets easier. We’re proud to collaborate again with Billion Oyster Project and to witness first-hand the change we’re bringing together. Our mission continues.” – Rolf Studer, Oris Co CEO.

Our Thoughts

Image: “Pete Malinowski is cleaning up New York Harbor, one oyster at a time.” Seen here wearing the New York Harbor Limited Edition II. A worthy watch for a noble cause.

Oris excels in making interesting watches accessible to a broader segment of watch collectors. They are also a champion of sustainability initiatives. They “walk the talk” when it comes to sustainability. The New York Harbor Limited Edition II straddles both these aspects of the brand – making it incredibly special and relatively rare. Each of the 2,000 owners would have contributed their bit to preserve the marine ecosystem.
