Meet the BBM Hiro — The Spanish Electric Motorcycle That Charges 100 km in 9 Minutes

The BBM Hiro is Spain’s modular electric motorcycle, promising 220 km range, 9-minute fast charging, and can be anything you want it to be.

There’s a new challenger in the electric motorcycle market — hailing from Bilbao, Spain, and dubbed BBM Motorcycles, founded by French brothers Benoit and Guillaume Barras. BBM specialises in premium electric motorcycles that combine performance, sustainability, and customizable design.
This electric motorcycle from Bilbao claims to solve one of the biggest issues with electric vehicles — slow charging durations, which adds a significant caveat to the overall electric vehicle ownership experience and, frankly, still acts as a deal breaker for many potential buyers, putting off buyers from embracing EV ownership.
BBM claims with their debut product — ‘’Hiro’’  they have found the solution to the problem. The company claims it’ll take merely 9 minutes of plugged-in time to give the motorcycle a range of 100 km (62 miles). 15 minutes of charging time is enough to take the battery charge from 0% to 80%. Sure, you’ll have to have a DC ultra-fast charging point to reap the full benefit of this.
But BBM is adamant, even if you can’t find a DC charger point or can’t afford one, a normal  AC adapter will do the same 0-80% charge in 78 minutes, still very competitive and quick.
BBM’s flagship product “Hiro” features a 12.96 kWh, 360 V battery pack using high-rate 3C lithium-ion cells with passive cooling. The battery is repairable and upgradable, allowing owners to replace or improve individual components over time, reducing waste and enabling long-term ownership. The Motorcycle offers a real-world range of over 220 km (about 137 miles) on full charge, enough for most commutes and day trips.
The design of the BBM Hiro is modular and adaptable, allowing the platform to transform into multiple styles, including a cafe racer, cruiser, naked bike, scrambler, or sport model, basically the owner’s choice. The body panels are constructed from bio-composite materials, placing great emphasis on sustainability.
BBM teamed up with Saroléa, an iconic motorcycle manufacturer from Belgium, which has a 170-year heritage and racing pedigree, to develop the technical backbone of the Hiro.
BBM plans to unveil the full-fledged pre-production prototype model of the “Hiro” by June 2026, and the deliveries for the production-ready models shall commence soon after. Starting from European markets and eventually leading to a global presence.
