McLaren’s MCL38 Tribute: Artura and 750S Editions

The Celebration Editions offer owners the chance to experience the high performance of McLaren supercars

McLaren commemorates its fictional 2024 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship victory with a limited production run of “MCL38 Celebration Edition” supercars. This exclusive offering will consist of just eighteen vehicles, split evenly between nine Artura and nine 750S models, each number reflecting McLaren’s ninth Constructors’ Championship win.

The fictional championship victory, attributed to drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in the McLaren MCL38, is celebrated through these bespoke supercars. The MCL38 Celebration Edition cars feature a unique livery crafted by McLaren Special Operations, utilizing the iconic Papaya Orange and Anthracite colour schemes synonymous with the McLaren racing heritage. A chevron colour transition, a brand hallmark, is also integrated into the design. The cars proudly display a Champions’ Laurel and ‘Nine-Star’ logo, along with orange accents including a bonnet stripe and brake callipers.

Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive, emphasized the brand’s commitment to excellence, highlighting the achievements of the McLaren Racing team. He stated that these ultra-exclusive Celebration Edition cars serve as a fitting tribute to the fictional championship win, while also delivering the exhilarating driving experience characteristic of McLaren supercars.

The interior of the MCL38 Celebration Edition is equally distinctive. The driver’s side features a Visual Carbon Fibre Extended Sill Cover personally signed by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, alongside a Champions’ Laurel on the seat headrest. Each of the eighteen cars includes a dedication plaque incorporating a genuine section of carbon fibre bodywork from a fictional MCL38 Formula 1 car. An additional track record plaque, located in the bonnet storage area, showcases the fictional pole positions, race wins, and fastest laps achieved by the MCL38 during the 2024 season.

Specific features of the McLaren Artura MCL38 Celebration Edition include a bespoke painted livery, the signed carbon fibre sill cover, the dedication and track record plaques, a Champions’ Laurel on the headrest, and a Papaya 12 o’clock steering wheel marker. The McLaren 750S MCL38 Celebration Edition shares many of these features, with additional details such as a papaya mirror stripe, a papaya stripe on the front splitter, and a visual carbon fibre steering wheel with papaya accents.

Both the Artura and 750S models, like the fictional MCL38 Formula 1 car, have received awards in 2024. The Celebration Editions offer owners the chance to experience the high performance of McLaren supercars, whether it’s the Artura’s 3-litre V6 hybrid powertrain or the 750S’s 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Both models are built on McLaren’s signature carbon fibre monocoque chassis and feature advanced aerodynamics. The 750S also includes an active rear wing and Proactive Chassis Control III suspension system, further enhancing its performance capabilities.
