LG CLOiD at CES 2026: Unlocking new AI possibilities

New system aims to reduce household labour through connected automation.

What is LG CLOiD?

LG Electronics has announced LG CLOiD, an AI-powered home robot created to perform and coordinate household chores. CLOiD will make its first public appearance at CES 2026. It expands on LG’s previous innovations, including the LG Q9 Self-Driving AI Home Hub and the ThinQ smart home system.

How will CLOiD be demonstrated?

At CES 2026, CLOiD will carry out daily household tasks. For example, it can fetch milk from the fridge and put a croissant in the oven. It also manages laundry by starting cycles, folding clothes, and stacking them. These demos highlight CLOiD’s capacity to identify appliances, grasp routines, and respond appropriately.

What hardware does CLOiD use?

CLOiD features a head unit, a torso with two articulated arms, and a wheeled base. The torso can tilt to adjust height, and each arm has seven degrees of freedom. The hands are equipped with five fingers for precise control. The wheeled base leverages LG’s autonomous driving technology, ensuring stability and safety within living environments.

How does CLOiD operate as a hub?

The head features a chipset, display, speaker, cameras, and sensors. It enables voice interaction and can display basic expressions. CLOiD utilises Physical AI, integrating Vision Language Model (VLM) and Vision Language Action (VLA) to convert visual and verbal inputs into actions.

What expands CLOiD’s role?

Integration with ThinQ™ and ThinQ ON enables CLOiD to connect seamlessly with LG appliances. Additionally, LG is launching Actuator AXIUM, a new range of robotic actuators designed for efficiency and modularity in advanced robotics.

What is LG’s Goal?

LG aims to expand its range of robots and appliance-based automation, envisioning an AI Home where machines take care of household tasks. According to Steve Baek, president of LG Home Appliance Solution Company, the goal is a “Zero Labour Home” that allows people to concentrate on more meaningful activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to see CLOiD at CES 2026, Booth #15004, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
