Korean Air Confirms More Flights For These Important Markets

The international destinations are across China and Japan.

South Korea’s flag carrier, Korean Air, has announced plans to strengthen its flight network in two important international markets: China and Japan. Resuming flights and increasing frequencies will enable the airline to achieve its goal.

After a four-year gap caused by the pandemic, Korean Air will resume services between Seoul Incheon and Mudanjiang and Busan and Qingdao on October 22 and December 1, respectively. Where the latter route will be a daily affair, the former will run five times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Another relaunch is planned for October 27, 2024. From that day, Korean Air will reconnect Seoul Incheon with Nagasaki for the winter season after a gap of over 11 years. The airline will operate four weekly services on this route on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Regarding adding flights, the airline has already done that on the route between Seoul Incheon and Zhengzhou from August 12, 2024. The weekly flights between the two cities increased from four to seven. A similar plan will be executed on the Seoul Incheon-Xiamen route from October 1, 2024, with the weekly flight count going up from four to seven. Also, the airline has added an extra weekly flight on the Seoul Incheon-Osaka route from September 2. Until October 26, 2024, Korean Air will operate four weekly services on this route.

The airline also has a two-phase enhancement plan for the Seoul Incheon-Taichung route. From September 10 until October 26, four weekly flights will operate between the two cities on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Then, from October 27, 2024, it’ll become a daily affair.

The carrier claims that by December this year, services to China will reach 95 per cent of pre-pandemic levels, and that figure for Japan will be 106 per cent.
