Kawasaki has launched the 2026 iteration of the widely popular Z900 streetfighter in India, with a few upgrades. At INR 9.99 Lakh, it is not only better than the previous model, but also cheaper by INR 19,900.
Despite being cheaper than last year’s model, the 2026 model receives subtle refinements in design, power, and electronics. The 2026 Kawasaki Z900 gets a slight bump in power, 123.6bhp and 98.6 N · m, which constitutes for increase of 1.6 horsepower and 1.2Nm of torque, respectively. The Z900 is powered by the same 948 cc, four-stroke DOHC 16-valve inline-four, a reworked version of the engine seen on the Z1000 models.

Aesthetically, the 2026 Z900 stays similar to the outgoing model – following the signature Sugomi-inspired design with aggressive lines and stance. However, Kawasaki introduced two new colour options, Candy Lime Green/Metallic Carbon Grey and Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Grey/Metallic Flat Spark Black – while the former red option has been discontinued.
Electronically, the Kawasaki Z900 remains the same -but in all honesty, it didn’t require any – last year when Kawasaki revamped the whole model, it included fresh new electronics such as Electronic cruise control, Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) with 3 riding modes, Power mode selection, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), Cornering ABS powered by a 6-axis IMU, Electronic throttle valves and Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS).

Kawasaki Z900 utilises the trusted steel trellis frame, paired with a 41 mm USD fork at the front and horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear, both adjustable for preload and rebound. The braking hardware includes dual 300 mm front discs with 4-piston callipers, ensuring strong bite and feedback. Additionally, Z900 comes standard with a new five-inch TFT screen that allows the rider to pair their smartphones via Bluetooth to utilise the turn-by-turn navigation and Rideology app.
With its INR 9.99 lakh price tag, the 2026 Kawasaki Z900 easily undercut its rivals – Triumph Street Triple R and Ducati Monster.
