Hero Karizma XMR Gets Bigger and Sharper

Upgrading from a 210cc engine to a 250cc engine, with all new improvements throughout

Hero Moto Corp came in with the heat during the 2024 EICMA Italy, unveiling four new production-ready products and hosts of concepts, including a few electric concepts. Among the four new products, there is a new and exciting sports bike – that marks a landmark unveiling for the company based in Jaipur, India – The Hero Karizma 250, marking the brand’s arrival in the quarter-litre segment for the first time.

About The Hero Karizma 250

It has been a year since the launch of the Karizma 210 – Now, Hero has now launched a new bigger and more powerful Karizma – equipping it with a 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that churns out 30bhp and 25Nm – mated to a 6-speed gearbox – sending the power to the rear wheel -other performance figures are yet to be disclosed and tested – considering, the Karizma XMR 210 – does 0-100 under 11 seconds, which is short on horsepower by 5 hp, compared to the new Karizma XMR 250 – the 250 models should be considerably quicker with its power advantage.

Cosmetically, The Karizma XMR 250 follows the traditional Karizma design philosophy – sharp and muscular angles – the Karizma XMR 250 takes it up a notch compared to its predecessors. The Karimza XMR 250 has a sharper headlight designed to be aerodynamically efficient at high speeds, directing the air away from the rider and limiting the windblast and a sharp faring with winglets beneath the headlights – Hero has not confirmed whether the winglets are functional or just there to enhance the aesthetics.

The XMR 250 sits on the trellis frame suspended to a front USD fork and a six-step adjustable rear mono-shock. Furthermore mechanically – the XMR 250 gets switchable ABS modes equipped to the Front and Rear Disc brakes fastened to 17-inch wheels, with radial tyres.

The new Karimza XMR 250 – gets a 4.1-inch TFT gauge cluster with turn-by-turn navigation and music controls, the bike gets LED lighting systems all around with projector LED headlamps and DRLs and height-adjustable clip handlebars. Hero Moto Corp did not disclose the launch dates for the Karizma XMR 250 – but expect it to be before the year end at the earliest or early next year at the latest.

The Hero Xtreme 250R

Hero MotorCorp has also unveiled the Naked Streetfighter Version of the 250R dubbing it the HERO Xtreme 250R – it gets all the bells and whistles from the XMR 250, short of the sporty fairing and adjustable clip handlebars. The Styling of the Xtreme 250R incorporates sharper lines, quite reminiscent of the Kawasaki Z series – which shall allow it to stand apart from the competition – whenever it hits the Indian roads.
