Well-renowned American motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson has officially launched the Harley-Davidson X440 T in India, priced at ₹2.79 Lakh. The X440 base model was co-developed by Hero Motocorp and Harley-Davidson and was launched in the year 2023 for the Indian market. The 2026 model year X440 T is now presented as the flagship variant of the X440 range.
The Harley Davidson X440 T gets a bunch of fresh new upgrades to enable it to go toe to toe with its much aggressive rivals. The new updates include a bunch of electronics upgrades and a redesigned rear-end tail section and sub-frame, creating a much more cohesive rear-end bodywork, addressing the criticism received by the fans and media.
The electronics suite on the Harley Davidson X440 T features a Ride-by-Wire throttle system, enabling a plethora of rider and safety aids on the motorcycle, such as two ride modes-Road and Rain, which alter throttle response and ABS intervention. A switchable traction control and rear ABS, offering the riders a certain degree of control over the motorcycle’s performance and feel. The X440 T also features a segment-first Panic Braking Alert system, which rapidly flashes all four indicators if the motorcycle starts to decelerate rapidly, further enhancing the safety of the motorcycle.
The Harley Davidson X440 T utilises the same 440cc, air/oil-cooled motor that makes 27hp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine transfers the power to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox, with a slip and assist clutch.
The Harley Davidson X440 T utilises the same high tensile steel trellis frame as the base model X440 model, but as mentioned earlier, the X440 T features a redesigned rear subframe. The motorcycle rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels suspended by 43 mm KYB USD forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock suspension at the rear.
The motorcycle is available in four different shades: Vivid Black, Pearl White, Pearl Blue, and Pearl Red. Priced at ₹2.79 Lakh, the Harley Davidson X440 T is set to rival the likes of Triumph Speed 400, Guerrilla 450 and Jawa 42. The bookings have officially begun at Harley-Davidson’s and Hero Motorcorp’s Premia dealerships, with deliveries commencing from early next year.
