Functions and Operation

Central hours, minutes, and seconds. Winding and time setting via the crown at 3 o’clock.

Dial

Image: The sector dial design is “is characterized by concentric circles and radial lines that enhance legibility and balance. Today, it remains a timeless aesthetic, bridging functionality and vintage elegance.” An abundance of interesting details on the dial. Notice the raised hour-markers.

Stamped blue sector dial featuring grained and circular brushed finishes. Applied Breguet style hour-markers are made from polished steel. Curved and domed hands are made from polished steel.

Case

Image: “The bezel finishes are also done independently before being fitted to the case, while alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces highlight the case profile. Inside, circular graining extends from the bezel to the decagonal screw-down caseback, engraved with the brand’s name. Prominent crown notches recall vintage watchmaking codes.”

Case is made from 316L stainless steel. Diameter: 37.5 mm. Thickness: 10.5 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 46 mm. Dial side and caseback feature a scratch proof sapphire crystal with 5 layers of anti-reflective coating and 1 layer of fingerprint resistant coating. Water resistant up to 50 metres.

The brand uses Italian or French leather straps that are fitted with a pin buckle made from 316L stainless steel. Our Thoughts

Image: A beautiful vintage inspired watch that is accessible to a broader segment of watch collectors. It is is delivered in a 1940s luggage inspired brown box with a certificate, archives, and a cleaning cloth.

Furlan Marri has a knack for crafting desirable watches with thoughtful details at accessible prices. I witnessed this firsthand at the Beau Rivage Hotel in Geneva during Watches and Wonders week in April where I was fortunate to handle their watches. The Blue Sector ticks several boxes. A vintage design (both the dial and case), perfect proportions (37.5 mm with the “cow-horn” lugs is perfect), a dependable movement, and does not cost an arm and a leg. It will be a welcome addition for beginner and experienced watch collectors, especially those who appreciate great design.
