Etihad To Increase Weekly Flights To Boston And Toronto

The bump in frequencies comes into effect from October 27, 2024.

For those planning trips to the USA or Canada via the Middle East, or vice versa, here’s something you should know. UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, has confirmed that from October 27, 2024, it will increase weekly flight frequencies to two international destinations – Boston and Toronto.

Etihad currently flies four weekly services between Abu Dhabi and Boston. The airline will begin operating one flight daily between the two cities from the date mentioned above. Flight EY 0007 will leave the UAE’s capital at 10:10 and land in Boston at 15:20. The return service – EY 0008 – will depart from Boston Logan International Airport and arrive at Zayed International Airport at 22:20 and 19:15 the next day, respectively. The US Customs and Border Protection facility at Abu Dhabi’s airport enables passengers to clear immigration and customs inspections before boarding a flight to the USA.

This is a unique situation since Boston was added to Etihad’s list of destinations three months ago. For the carrier, Boston became the fourth link between Abu Dhabi and the USA, the other three being New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C. A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring 28 seats in Business Class and 262 in Economy, will serve this route.

Regarding the flight services to Toronto, they will also be increased to once daily from Abu Dhabi. The flight EY 0021 will leave Abu Dhabi at 02:35 and land in Toronto at 08:15. The return leg – EY 0022 – will depart from Toronto at 14:20 and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 12:10 the next day.

On this route, Etihad will deploy a brand-new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. The widebody jet, which promises up to 25 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, will feature 44 Business Studios. Here, passengers can convert their seats into 79-inch (in length) flat beds. Other creature comforts include plenty of storage spaces, noise-cancelling headphones, Bluetooth connectivity, a wireless charging dock, and an 18.5-inch screen to enjoy in-flight entertainment.
