What does the codeshare agreement include?
Vietnam Airlines and Etihad Airways have launched a codeshare partnership, enhancing travel options between Hanoi and Abu Dhabi. Selected Vietnam Airlines flights will carry Etihad’s “EY” code, while Etihad-operated services will also bear Vietnam Airlines’ “VN” code.
How does this benefit passengers?
Vietnam Airlines customers gain access to six destinations beyond Abu Dhabi—Athens, Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Muscat, Cairo, and Istanbul, via Etihad’s global network. Etihad guests, meanwhile, can connect to key domestic Vietnamese destinations and popular cities across Asia with the convenience of a single ticket, one check-in, and automatic baggage transfer.

How does this build on existing cooperation?
The partnership, launched in July 2025, complements the airlines’ frequent flyer collaboration, enabling Etihad Guest and Lotus Miles members to earn and redeem rewards across their combined global networks.
