Edge by Titan introduces the phenomenal new UltraSlim

With a 3.3 mm thickness, it is the thinnest Edge watch ever. It is available in grey and a monochromatic black dial version.

Edge by Titan has unveiled the UltraSlim – the thinnest Edge watch ever made, and among the thinnest in the world. It is available in grey and a monochromatic black dial version.

India’s Titan Watch Company (“Titan”) is one of the largest watch producers in the world, selling approximately 15 million watches each year. They are part of India’s USD $150 billion TATA Group. Along with Titan, Fasttrack, Raga, and Nebula – Edge is a sub brand of Titan.

“Since its debut in 2002, Edge has redefined ultra-slim watchmaking by combining Indian engineering with world-class design. Each creation reflects the brand’s philosophy of minimalism, material innovation, and quiet mastery– where engineering brilliance meets timeless design. A benchmark in sophistication, Edge leads Titan’s premium offerings with its minimalist aesthetics and precision engineering in the watches business.”

Key Features

Functions and Operation

Image: Monochromatic black dial version. The single hand is printed on the central floating disc. A philosophical dimension to time. Not for someone who is in a hurry.

Time indicated in 10-minute intervals by the central single hand rotating or floating disc. Crown at 3 o’clock to set the time.

“The Edge Ultraslim reimagines time as a seamless flow. Its single-hand floating disc glides in ten-minute intervals, creating the illusion of continuous motion rather than measured seconds.”

Dial

Image: Silver dial version. Notice how incredibly thin the watch is. It weighs only 30 grams.

Grey and monochromatic black dial versions. Matte finished fixed outer ring with hour and minute scale. Rotating inner disc with single hand.

“The invisible pinions create the illusion of a floating disc, letting time sweep across the dial like a silent breath. This is design distilled to its purest form – where nothing is wasted and everything has purpose.”

Movement

Powered by the brand’s Edge Calibre T9081, a stepper quartz movement that drives the single hand rotating-disc. Thickness: 1.15 mm – among the thinnest quartz movements in the world.

“The T9081 is an achievement in miniaturisation. Its stepper quartz technology ensures unwavering accuracy, while every component – from the ultra-flat plates to the microscopic gear train – is precision-built for minimal space and maximum reliability. The result: a movement so discreet it’s almost invisible, yet so masterful it commands attention.”

Case

Image: The case is finished with precision micro blasting. Bezel features a fine satin finish, and the outer ring a high-polish. Notice the concealed lugs, which feature cermet machining on their corner bevels. Notice the brand’s logo embossed on the crown.

Made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. Diameter: 40.5 mm. Thickness: 3.3 mm. Dial side features a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with six-layer anti-reflective coating. Water resistant up to 3 ATM or approximately 30 metres. Both versions come with a supple stitch-free Italian calf leather strap fitted to the brand’s signature pin buckle.

Image: “The Edge UltraSlim is more than a watch – it is a meditation on time. Every fraction of a millimetre reflects years of disciplined innovation, where design and engineering coexist in perfect harmony.”Mr. Kuruvilla Markose, CEO, Watches & Wearables.

Our Thoughts

Image: The UltraSlim was the brand’s first ever entry at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2024. Technically impressive and a conversation starter at watch GTGs for sure. A unique addition to almost any watch collection.

The UltraSlim benefits immensely from Titan’s years of expertise in crafting ultra-thin cases and quartz movements. What I find most remarkable is the time display in 10-minute intervals. It adds a philosophical dimension to a technically impressive modern watch, giving it a dual personality. I look forward to seeing the UltraSlim in the flesh and doing a hands-on review.

Titan has been doing exciting things lately. A few months ago, they unveiled the Nebula by Titan “Jalsa” Tourbillon, a limited edition of 10 pieces. Titan entered it for the prestigious the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awards to be held in November this year.
