Dubai Airshow 2025: CFM to power RoyalJet’s new jets

The Abu Dhabi-based private aviation player selects the LEAP-1A engines for its ACJ320neo aircraft.

Engine choice confirmed

During the Dubai Airshow 2025, RoyalJet, the Abu Dhabi-based premium private jet operator, announced the selection of CFM LEAP-1A engines to power its upcoming fleet of ACJ320neo aircraft currently on order with Airbus. The engines are produced by CFM International, a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.

Performance and sustainability

The LEAP engine family has achieved the fastest ramp in commercial aviation history, powering 4,000 aircraft in nine years. Incorporating composite fan blades and ceramic-matrix composites, the engines deliver 15 per cent greater fuel efficiency and 15 per cent lower carbon emissions than the previous-generation CFM56. Supported by advanced health monitoring and a global MRO network, the engines are designed for reliability and high asset utilisation.

Partnership outlook

RoyalJet Acting CEO Mohammed Husain Ahmed highlighted the LEAP-1A’s reputation for safety and efficiency, while CFM International CEO Gaël Méheust emphasised the partnership’s role in advancing RoyalJet’s operational excellence. The announcement follows RoyalJet’s February order of three ACJ320neo aircraft and six purchase rights, marking its entry as a new Airbus customer.
