There are fast cars, there are luxurious cars, and then there’s the Brabus 1000 — a machine that fuses brutal power, state-of-the-art hybrid tech, and incredible craftsmanship into one unforgettable package.
Based on the formidable Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance, this four-door supercar is no mere tuner’s experiment. Brabus has pushed the envelope to produce 1,000hp and up to 1,620 Nm of torque. That’s more torque than the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport!
The Brabus 1000: Speed Wears Carbon
From the first glance, it’s clear the Brabus 1000 has no intention to hide its prowess. Its entire body is draped in exposed carbon fibre, sculpted not just for visual drama but for aerodynamic purposes. At speeds well beyond 300km/h, every crease, winglet and diffuser has a role to play.
The front end is anchored by a newly developed carbon splitter, flanked by sharp canards that channel air with precision. These components reduce front-axle lift and enhance cornering grip, making the Brabus 1000 not just fast in a straight line, but fiercely agile through the bends. Grille inserts with illuminated Brabus insignia lend an added dose of theatre to the nose, while carbon fender attachments and mirror caps continue the high-performance motif along the profile.
At the rear is an integrated diffuser and a commanding carbon wing that keeps the supercar planted. The quad 76mm tailpipes, tucked neatly into the diffuser, hint at the V8 thunder lurking within.
V8 Hybrid Power
What truly sets the Brabus 1000 apart, however, is what lies under the hood. This isn’t a mild hybrid with a few extra kilowatts tacked on. It’s a complete transformation of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance’s powertrain. At its heart sits a heavily reworked 4.0-litre Brabus V8 biturbo engine, paired with an electric motor at the rear axle.
The internal combustion unit alone delivers 796hp and a monstrous 1,250Nm of torque, electronically regulated to 1,050Nm for optimal hybrid integration. When combined with the 204hp from the electric motor, total output touches 1,000hp and an electronically limited torque peak of 1,620Nm.
This hybrid synergy is more than just numbers on a spec sheet. The combustion engine features custom components across the board — from a milled crankshaft with a 100mm stroke, to eight specially forged pistons, reinforced head gaskets, and a pair of Brabus-exclusive turbochargers. The exhaust flows through downpipes with a 75 mm diameter, feeding into a high-performance, low-backpressure catalytic system.
The electric component, borrowed directly from Mercedes-AMG’s hybrid flagship, channels its power to the rear axle via a two-speed automatic gearbox, providing instant torque fill and enhanced launch control. Together, this setup enables ballistic acceleration figures. The Brabus 1000 blasts from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.6 seconds, hits 200km/h in 9.5 seconds, and reaches 300km/h in a scarcely believable 23.6 seconds. Top speed is limited to 320km/h.
Of course, speed is only part of the equation. The soundtrack is just as important. A stainless steel Brabus exhaust system with active flap control gives the driver command over the car’s acoustic identity — from a discreet purr to an earth-shaking V8 roar, with every decibel tuned to perfection.
Grip, Drop, Go
To keep all that power in check, Brabus outfits the 1000 with its signature forged Monoblock Z wheels, measuring 21 inches at the front and 22 at the rear. These lightweight, ten-spoke alloys are produced using advanced CNC machining and forging techniques, offering reduced unsprung mass and optimal strength for high-speed use. Wrapped in 305/30 R21 front and 335/25 R22 rear high-performance rubber from either Continental or Hankook, the wheels contribute significantly to grip and cornering confidence.
Suspension tuning is equally aggressive. The car rides on height-adjustable Brabus sport springs, allowing for a drop of up to 20mm. This lower centre of gravity improves turn-in response, sharpens the chassis’ already tenacious handling characteristics, and gives the Brabus 1000 its signature squat stance. The result is a car that not only demolishes straights but dances through corners with equal poise.
Leather & Carbon-Laced Interior
While the performance data reads like a motorsport dossier, the interior tells a story of luxury and indulgence. Dubbed the “Masterpiece” cabin, the Brabus 1000’s interior is a feast of tactile and visual detail. Black leather dominates the upholstery, contrasted by Dinamica microfiber on the headliner.
The trademark Brabus “Shell” quilting and embossed “77 Heritage” branding on the seats, doors, and trunk pay homage to the company’s formation in 1977 while showcasing artisan-level attention to detail. Carbon fibre is used extensively, from the steering wheel inserts and shift paddles to the dashboard, pedal set, and centre console. Brabus’ signature Rocket Red accents run throughout the cabin. Every Brabus 1000 is built to order, allowing for full personalisation.
All Power, No Apologies
The Brabus 1000 is more of a thoroughbred supercar than just another tuned Mercedes-AMG. It exists in a niche of its own and is more exclusive than just about anything with four doors. It’s a car for the bold. For those who believe power should not be tamed but celebrated.
