Beda’a has introduced the Eclipse II, their second model in their Eclipse collection. It succeeds the Eclipse I – a limited-edition model of 200 pieces that sold out within hours. The Eclipse II will be limited to 100 pieces per year.
Beda’a is an independent watch brand from Qatar. It was envisioned by Hader Al Suwaidi, an entrepreneur and the president of luxury group Albidaa, “who aimed to create a horological brand that would position the Arab region not just as a market for fine watches, but as a contributor to the global watchmaking industry.” The brand was born when Suwaidi hired Sohaib Maghnam, a talented engineer-designer, who had founded Maghnam Watches, and who credits his time in London and Milan for sparking his horological passion and career.
“Once in Doha as CEO of Beda’a, Sohaib’s unique skill set quickly proved invaluable. While he had spent nearly seven years in Europe, he remained deeply rooted in Arab culture and language. An engineer by training, he had already honed his expertise in watch design and construction while steadily building a network of clients, partners, and suppliers—all driven by a crystal-clear vision for contemporary watchmaking. At just 27, he was a rare figure in the watch industry, and under his leadership, Beda’a came into its own. Today, two years later, he is the company’s CEO and Chief Designer.”

Dial
Multi-layered dial made from steel, brass, and aventurine.
The patterns on the left- and right-hand side of the dial are polished, cream-finished, and “capture sunlight in motion.” The hour and minute subdial is made from aventurine and “mirror a star-strewn night sky.”
Case
Case is made from 904 stainless steel. Diameter: 37 mm. Thickness: 9.55 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 47 mm. Water resistant up to 3 ATM or approximately 30 metres. The watch is delivered with an alligator or ostrich leather strap fitted with a matching pin buckle.
Movement
Powered by BMJ-01, an automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, and small seconds with a stop seconds function. It is a Sellita SW300 base fitted with a Dubois Depraz custom module – the latter co-developed with Beda’a. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 52 hours.
