Bangalore Watch Company (BWC) has introduced the Apogee Visitor – a new addition to the brand’s Apogee collection that was launched in 2021.
“The story of the Visitor goes back to 2017, when astronomers saw an interstellar object passing through our solar system at an extraordinary speed. It had come from another star system, making it the first interstellar object ever observed by humanity. This rare discovery changed the way we think about space, reminding us of the vastness of the universe. It was this discovery that inspired the idea behind the Visitor.”
The Visitor is almost identical to the Karman Line – a prototype of which completed a stratospheric flight 114,000 feet (35 kilometres) into the earth’s atmosphere and returned safely.
Key Features
Functions and Operation

Central hours, minutes, and seconds with a stop-seconds function. Date at 6 o’clock. Dual time – tracked via the inner bezel.
Push and pull crown at 2 o’clock for the inner bezel / dual time function. Push and pull crown at 4 o’clock for winding, time-and date setting.
Dial

Dial is crafted from a piece of the blue-coloured Muonionalusta meteorite featuring a matte black finish. Hands and hour-markers are diamond cut, rhodium finished and coated with C3 Grade-A Super-LumiNova.
“The brand has chosen a Meteorite from outer space to use in the watch, the Muonionalusta meteorite — one of the oldest materials on Earth. Meteorites are extremely hard to work with, but with precision and patience, they reveal natural patterns that make every piece unique. The brand has used this rare material in the Apogee collection since 2021, and in the Visitor, a Meteorite dial with a very meticulate Matte Black PVD coating has been used.”
Case

Case is made from BWC’s proprietary Cerasteel® – a combination of a unibody stainless steel construction with a ceramic-coated finish. Width: 40 mm. Thickness: 12 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 44 mm. Dial side features a domed sapphire crystal with two layers of anti-reflective coating. Closed caseback is screwed to the main case. Water tightness range: 1 ATM (vacuum) to 10 ATM (high pressure).
Watch comes with a genuine leather strap fitted with a stainless steel 316L tang buckle engraved with the brand’s logo.
Movement:
Powered by a Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1, an automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds with stop-seconds function, and date. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz.
“Our customers love the fact that they get to wear a watch that is unlike any other; they’re extremely rare and the patterns make them unique, the Matte black Meteorite is quite unlike any other and makes this watch even more interesting. It is under the radar and screams IYKYK.” – Mercy Amalraj, Co-founder and Head of Ownership Experience.
Our Thoughts

Bangalore Watch Company has a knack for telling Indian stories through its watches. The brand has honoured India’s Air-Force (MACH1), its love for cricket (Cover Drive), and natural beauty (Peninsula Professional).
The Apogee Visitor – with its matte black finished meteorite dial – offers another alternative to collectors seeking a space-inspired meteorite dial watch from the brand. It evokes stealthy vibes and is sure to find a fan following.
