Aston Martin Drops Stunning Volante 60th Anniversary Editions

For Aston Martin, Volante is more than just a badge. It’s more of a promise of sorts. For six decades, it has represented the pinnacle of open-top British motoring, fusing grand touring elegance with raw performance.

Now, to celebrate 60 years of convertible-driving, Q by Aston Martin, the brand’s bespoke division, has unveiled two very special creations: the DB12 Volante 60th Anniversary Edition and the Vanquish Volante 60th Anniversary Edition. Both are limited to just 60 examples each, making them some of the most desirable Astons in recent years.

60 Years Of Aston Martin’s Legacy

The Volante name first appeared in 1965 with the ultra-rare Short Chassis Volante — only 37 were built. Since then, Volante has become a staple in Aston Martin’s lineup, giving us some of the most luxurious performance-oriented drop-top models. These new 60th Anniversary Editions are meticulously crafted by Q by Aston Martin, bringing together heritage-inspired design with the performance of Aston’s latest machines.

The Power Duo: Vanquish & DB12

  • Vanquish Volante: At the top of the food chain, Aston drops its mighty 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, delivering an intense 811hp and 1,000Nm! That means 0–100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and a 344km/h top speed. This is the fastest and most powerful convertible Aston Martin has ever built.

  • DB12 Volante: Don’t mistake this one for a softer option. With its hand-built AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, it produces 661hp and 800Nm. 0–100km/h takes 3.6 seconds, and it runs out of puff only at 325km/h — quite impressive. It’s Aston’s “super tourer,” a car that fuses daily usability with enough punch to humble supercars.

Both cars feature Aston’s lightweight K-fold roof, which opens in just 14 seconds (and closes in 16) at speeds of up to 50km/h. Roof down, they look every bit as dramatic as Aston intended.

Q by Aston Martin Works Its Magic

The real magic of these special editions lies in the details. Q by Aston Martin has built a reputation for turning already special cars into rolling works of art, and these anniversary editions are no exception.

Both models wear Pentland Green paint, paired with a Westminster Green hood. Anodised bronze accents add contrast, from the vaned grille to the side strakes milled from solid aluminium and serving a real aerodynamic purpose by reducing lift at speed. The styling is further improved by 21-inch satin bronze wheels with diamond-turned edges, backed by black brake calipers.

Both models feature a tri-tone leather cabin in Centenary Saddle Tan, Ivory, and Woven finishes. There’s Dark Walnut open-pore veneer, bronze touchpoints, and bespoke 60th Anniversary embroidery. The detailing extends to the etched seatbacks.

It’s not just about looks either. These cars scream exclusivity thanks to enamelled Q by Aston Martin badges, proudly placed beneath the strakes.

The Legacy Of Volante

Aston Martin’s Volante name has always stood for the ultimate open-top driving experience, and the 60th Anniversary Editions bring that legacy roaring into the present. As Chief Commercial Officer, Jolyon Nash put it: “Volante is one of Aston Martin’s most evocative names, representing six decades of the ultimate open-top driving experience. With the 60th Anniversary Editions, we’ve created a truly exclusive celebration of that legacy — bringing together the raw power of Vanquish Volante and the refined versatility of DB12 Volante.”

Exclusivity only adds to the appeal. With Q by Aston Martin’s bespoke touches, heritage-inspired details, and a strict production limit of just 60 examples of each model, these are cars made for collectors who value rarity as much as performance. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but anyone who understands Aston knows there will be a premium — and for the right buyers, it’s worth every penny. Deliveries begin in Q4 2025, and given their significance, these Volantes are sure to be claimed long before then.
