ArtyA Geneve unveils exclusive new watches for Dubai Watch Week

ArtyA Geneve has introduced the AquaSaphir Dubai Editions for Dubai Watch Week (DWW) and to celebrate their partnership with Ahmed Seddiqi. DWW – an initiative of Ahmed Seddiqi – is being held during 19^th – 23^rd November.

Functions and Operation

Both editions: Central hours, minutes, and seconds. Date at 3 o’clock. Winding and time setting via the crown at 3 o’clock.

Dial

Image: The unique piece edition. The Quadricolour NanoSapphire bezel in the colours of the UAE flag is a world first. Notice the UAE flag at 6 o’clock. The Arabic inscription translates to “Limited Edition, Dubai Edition.” The sparkle on the dial is evocative of the desert night sky. The white date window frame and date wheel contrast well with the white elements on the dial, hands and bezel.

Both editions: Aventurine dial. Hands and hour-markers are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9.

Case

The unique piece’s case middle is made from black sapphire. It features a Quadricolour NanoSapphire bezel in the colours of the UAE flag – ruby red, emerald green, black, and transparent.

The 10-piece limited edition’s middle case and bezel is made from emerald green sapphire.

Image: The 10-piece limited edition. Its case middle and bezel are crafted from emerald green sapphire, an extremely hard material and difficult to work with. Deep emerald green sapphire crystal has the same chemical composition as a genuine emerald. It also retains all the technical properties of white sapphire crystal. Green is symbolic to the UAE.

Both editions: Diameter: 41 mm. Thickness: 12.8 mm. Sapphire is hand-polished for “perfect transparency.” Dial side features a sapphire crystal with triple anti-reflective coating. Caseback is made from NanoSapphire. Water resistant up to 6 ATM or 60 metres. Both editions come with a black rubber strap and are fitted with an ArtyA pin buckle – with or without black DLC coating.

Movement

Though the La Joux-Perret G100 is a dependable movement and easily serviceable by qualified watchmakers worldwide, I wish they had used a higher-end movement for both editions – especially considering their price points.

Both editions are powered by La Joux-Perret G100, an automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds with a stop seconds function, and date. Jewels: 24. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 68 hours.
