Aprilia Reveals Wild X 250TH at US GP with 240 HP and MotoGP Hardware

Unveiled at the US GP, the Aprilia X 250TH is a 240 hp track-only machine with MotoGP hardware, marking the USA’s 250th anniversary.

What is the Aprilia X 250TH?

Aprilia has taken the wraps off its limited edition motorcycle built in collaboration with Aprilia Racing – The Aprilia X 250th edition. The Motorcycle is positioned as an ultra-exclusive high-performance machine limited to just 30 units. Of the 30 units, 25 shall reach the US market, and the remaining 5 will be allocated towards other regions for € 115,000.

Why is it called “250TH”?

The Aprilia X 250th is commissioned by the Piaggio group to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. The unveiling took place on the tarmac of Circuit of the Americas, on the occasion of the US MotoGP Grand Prix, further emphasisng on its American-inspired story.

What are the headline technical highlights?

The Aprilia X 250TH is developed alongside Aprilia’s MotoGP engineers, borrowing heavily from its MotoGP challenger RS-GP.

The Aprilia X 250th is underpinned by an aluminium double trellis frame, while the suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable Öhlins FKR front forks, along with an Öhlins steering damper and Öhlins TTX GP rear shock. The setup is rounded off with forged magnesium Marchesini wheels, fitted with the same Pirelli slicks used in the World Superbike Championship.

Braking hardware is best described by Aprilia as the defining quality of the Aprilia X 250th. The motorcycle features a Brembo carbon fibre braking system, directly borrowed from the MotoGP machine – The RS-GP. What Powers the Aprilia X 250TH?

The Aprilia X 250TH is powered by a 1099 cc, 65-degree V4 engine developed by Aprilia Racing to SBK racing specifications. The V4 is capable of producing 240 hp at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,750 rpm, with a maximum engine speed of 14,100 rpm.

How does the Aprilia X 250TH look?

Mechanically, the Aprilia X 250th is an RSV4 with steroids, and so is true aesthetically, the Motorcycle embodies a race bike like agressive stance with sharp-edge fairing with MotoGP-inspired aerodynamics that include front aero elements, seat wings, tail wings, under wings, and cornering wings. While draped in a “Stars and Stripes” livery that uses the colours of the American flag, tying the visual theme directly to the USA 250th-anniversary.
