All-new Kia EV5 SUV Launched In The Middle East And Africa

The latest all-electric compact SUV comes with a new-fangled minimalist design, a 30-inch panoramic infotainment screen, 2 battery options and a range of up to 550 kms.

Kia Middle East and Africa have officially launched the all-electric 2025 Kia EV5 SUV. The event, which was held in Rabat, Morocco, marked a significant point in the brand’s journey towards advancing sustainable mobility solutions in the region.  The latest addition to Kia’s line-up is a compact SUV that which was developed around “three core pillars – robust SUV design, zero emissions coupled with superior performance, and spacious interiors.” It is also said to be the ideal entry point for many EV customers.

Exterior: Boxy minimalist design; shares cues with larger EV9

Its robust, boxy design which is dominated by straight lines and angular cuts draws cues from its bigger sibling the EV9 full-size SUV, but is rendered with a cleaner aesthetic. It also gets a corrugated panels in the front and rear bumpers, black pillars and wheel arches, as well as 2-tone alloy wheels. It also comes with a variety of  interior and exterior colour options.

Interior: Minimalist design; front bench seating & a 30-inch touchscreen

The high-tech interior includes a 30-inch wide touch screen (12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 5.0-inch climate control), a new control layout, and wide mood lighting, which is designed to make it a futuristic, yet comfortable space. The spacious interior comes with numerous comfort and convenience features, including relaxation seats with massage functions, a bench-type front seat, a cooled and warmed trunk box, and a versatile rear table.

Powertrain: 64.2 & 88.1 kWh battery opts; up to 550 km range; 30 to 80 pc in 27 mins

Built on Kia’s advanced platform, the Kia EV5 offers both 2WD and AWD configurations. It features two LFP battery options, 64.2 kWh and 88.1 kWh, delivering an estimated range of up to 550 km on a single charge. It is equipped with a fast-charging capability that allows it to go from a 30 percent charge to 80 per cent capacity in just 27 minutes. The EV5’s comes with an comes powered by a 310 hp motor that allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. 

Safety: ADAS and Remote Smart Parking Assist

The newly launched vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS package, featuring advanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) 2.0, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2(RSPA2), and 360° parking sensors. It also offers the latest in safety and durability with its LFP battery.

It is also worth noting is that the EV5 uses eco-friendly materials, such as Bio PP/PU and recycled PET, along with BTX-free paint. Pricing and warranty details have yet to be announced for all 9 markets including the UAE.
