Aleix Espargaró’s 2020 Aprilia RS-GP MotoGP Bike is heading for auction

Aleix Espargaró's Aprilia RS-GP 20 MotoGP prototype, which was raced during the 2020 season, is being auctioned at Race Retro 2026 by Iconic Auctioneers.

The Aprilia RS-GP 20 MotoGP prototype, ridden by former MotoGP rider and race winner Aleix Espargaró, is set to be auctioned off at Race Retro 2026 by Iconic Auctioneers, taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from February 20-22.
The MotoGP prototype comes directly from Aleix Espargaró’s personal collection. The motorcycle was officially given to Espargaró in 2022 by the Noale-based manufacturer. Onboard the Apriia RS-GP20, Espargaró managed to finish 17th in the overall standings during the 2020 season.
Despite finishing the season with lacklustre results, the RS-GP20 holds a distinct value for Aprilia in their pursuit of MotoGP glory. The RS-GP 20 was a complete redesign from its previous incarnation, featuring a new 90-degree V4 engine at its heart, shrouded by reworked aerodynamics, a new double-rail frame, and a new seamless transmission. The R&D work done on the RS-GP20 eventually led to the groundbreaking aerodynamics design, such as the pioneering ground effect tunnel, to take shape. A first-ever application of ground effect on a racing motorcycle of anykind.
Additionally, what makes this offering special is also the rider it served. Aleix Espargaró stayed with the Noale-based outfit from 2017  till he retired from full-time racing in 2024. During his time with the manufacturer, the Spaniard played a crucial role in the development of the RS-GP package, the results of which were witnessed during the 2022-2024 season, during which Aleix won three Grand Prix and multiple podium finishes.
The RS-GP now stands as one of MotoGP’s top challengers in the hands of Marco Bezzechi, who took the motorcycle to multiple podium finishes and a race victory, while going toe to toe against the might of Marc Marquez and Ducati during the 2025 season. The RS-GP now resonates as the epitome of the current era of aerodynamics.
The Motorcycle is said to be in its original condition as it was intended from the factory, hardly untouched since it last raced in the 2020 season finale. The motorcycle features a race-ready Akrapovič exhaust system, bespoke Öhlins suspension, carbon brake discs, and bodywork. The prototype machinery is being offered with its Aprilia paperwork and delivery notes. The motorcycle also comes with Espargaró’s set of racing boots, gloves, leathers and a helmet worn on the motorcycle.
