What is Air India’s Maharaja Lounge?
Air India has unveiled The Maharaja Lounge. Spread over 16,000 sq. ft. and space for 300 guests, it’s the airline’s first flagship lounge at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. From February 16, 2026, the lounge will open to guests and progressively welcome Business and First Class travellers, Gold and Platinum Maharaja Club members, and eligible Star Alliance passengers. This milestone sets a new standard in luxury travel comfort alongside warm Indian hospitality, embodying the airline’s updated identity and its transformation journey.
What makes the design unique?
The lounge, conceptualised by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), exemplifies Air India’s updated branding and design philosophy, characterised by subtle sophistication, meticulous detailing, and a harmonious fusion of heritage-inspired ambience with contemporary luxury. Curated artwork celebrates India’s rich cultural heritage, ensuring that every guest experiences a connection to the airline’s origins while enjoying modern comforts.
