Air India Establishes Direct Connection with Mainland China
Here’s some excellent news for those who have been yearning for a direct flight from India to mainland China. Air India has confirmed that starting February 1, 2026, it will restart nonstop flights between Delhi and Shanghai. The service resumes after a six-year hiatus and will operate four times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Air India also states that it will launch direct flights between Mumbai and Shanghai in 2026.
Air India flight AI352 will depart from Delhi at 12:00 and arrive in Shanghai at 20:20. Those travelling in the opposite direction will board flight AI351, which will start and conclude its journey at 22:00 and 03:15 the next day, respectively. All times mentioned are local.
Once launched, Shanghai will take the 48th spot in Air India Group’s network of international destinations. Air India will deploy a Boeing 787-8 aircraft on the newly announced route. The widebody will offer two cabin options for passengers: 18 flat-bed seats in First Class and 238 Economy seats.
