Air India Is Now Offering Priority Services For Economy Passengers

Called ZipAhead, it’s available up to 75 minutes before the flight from six Indian airports.

Among an array of services that Air India provides to its Platinum and Gold members of the Maharaja Club loyalty programme, regardless of the class they travel by, are priority check-in and baggage handling. Now, the same services are available for all Economy class travellers within India.

The airline has launched ZipAhead. As the name suggests, once purchased, it activates priority check-in and priority baggage handling to reduce waiting times. Customers can use the dedicated Premium Economy check-in counters at six Indian airports: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

The cost? If purchased more than six hours before the scheduled departure time, one will have to pay INR 499. Otherwise, the figure jumps to INR 699. Air India will allow travellers to buy this newly introduced package up to 75 minutes before the flight’s departure. Those interested can purchase it through the airline’s website, mobile application, airport ticketing offices, and customer contact centre.
