It seems Air India Express (AIX) really wants to capitalize on the demand for Bangkok flights. Earlier this month, the low-cost carrier announced direct flights to Thailand’s capital from Surat and Pune, beginning on December 20 and 21 (the date has been changed from December 20), respectively. To further strengthen its presence in Bangkok, the airline has announced nonstop services from Amritsar and Lucknow.
The service to Bangkok from Amritsar starts on December 27, 2024. The flight will depart from Amritsar at 10:40 and arrive in the Thai capital at 17:00. The return leg starts and concludes at 18:00 and 22:00, respectively. AIX will offer this route four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Lucknow-Bangkok route goes live on December 28, 2024. Scheduled for three weekly round-trip services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the flight will depart from the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India, at 11:40 and land in Bangkok at 17:00. Those travelling the other will start at 18:00 and arrive at 20:50. All times mentioned are local.
Once live, AIX will have three international connections from Amritsar: Bangkok, Dubai, and Sharjah. From Lucknow, Bangkok will become the carrier’s first international destination.
