The flag carrier of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Air Côte d’Ivoire, has taken delivery of an Airbus A330-900 aircraft. Not only is it the first of the two aircraft of the same type the airline ordered, but also the first ever widebody to join its fleet.
The Airbus A330neo for Air Côte d’Ivoire features a four-cabin configuration. The jet has four seats in First, 44 in Business, 21 in Premium Economy, and 173 in Economy. In addition, it comes with enlarged overhead bins, a new lighting system, enhanced individual space, and access to the latest in-flight entertainment and connectivity services.
The Airbus A330 will play a vital role in Air Côte d’Ivoire’s network expansion plans to Europe. Starting with Paris, the jet will then be deployed on routes to the Middle East and North America. Air Côte d’Ivoire has a strong presence in the western and central Africa region with 22 destinations served across the continent.
When it flew from the manufacturer’s facility at Toulouse for Abidjan, the first Airbus A330-900 for Air Côte d’Ivoire also carried five tonnes of humanitarian goods, including materials and school supplies, marking the third goodwill flight in cooperation with Airbus Foundation and with support from Aviation Sans Frontières.
