A. Lange & Söhne hosts an exciting exhibition in Dubai

The Home of Precision pop-up exhibition is being held from December 4th – 17th at the Dubai Mall’s Grand Atrium.

A. Lange & Söhne (Lange) has brought a bit of Glasshütte to Dubai by hosting the Home of Precision pop-up exhibition at the Dubai Mall’s Grand Atrium from December 4th – 17th.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our craftsmanship in a special way. With our pop-up at the Dubai Mall, watch enthusiasts can now experience the values that define A. Lange & Söhne: commitment to craftsmanship, respect for tradition, and pursuit of innovation. It represents a dialogue between two worlds — the calm precision of Glashütte and the dynamic energy of Dubai — united by a shared appreciation for excellence.”Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne.

The Pop-Up exhibition at the Dubai Mall’s Grand Atrium

Image: “The pop-up pays homage to A. Lange & Söhne’s historic manufacture building in Glashütte, Saxony, which was completed in 1873 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who laid the foundations for Saxony’s precision watchmaking. In the Dubai Mall, this distinctive landmark is reinterpreted through a luminous, contemporary structure that captures both heritage and modernity. Guests are welcomed by a façade that makes a reference to the brand’s exclusive honey-gold alloy, thus setting the tone for a journey into the world of Lange’s fine watchmaking.”

Watches on display and the Immersive Room

Image: “Inside the installation, visitors are guided through distinct spaces that reveal different facets of the manufacture’s savoir-faire: The Immersive Room tells the eventful story of A. Lange & Söhne through a series of visual and spatial narratives. It covers milestones from the manufacture’s foundation in 1845, to its new beginnings in 1990, to its modern-day innovations, and illustrates its pursuit of precision and perfection.”

The Engraving Area

Image: “In the Engraving Area, the mastery of the artisans is highlighted, as is reflected in the hand-engraved balance cock, a special and individual feature of every Lange watch. The timepieces on display reveal the brand’s designs to be both elegant and timeless. With the assistance of the brand’s watch advisors, visitors can discover the high level of exclusivity of A. Lange & Söhne’s in-house manufactured movements.”

The Café Space

Image: “Finally, the Café Space is a festive setting designed for conversation and relaxation, where guests can enjoy complimentary treats in collaboration with the restaurant Parker’s.”

Our Thoughts

Image: I would love to get hold of old Lange literature such as these for my home watch library.

Just last month, Lange had a large and impressive booth at Dubai Watch Week 2025, displaying key pieces from five out of their six collections (I do not recall seeing the Odysseus). Mr. Wilhelm Schmid, CEO, and Mr. Robert Hoffmann, Head of ZEITWERK were present. I was fortunate to spend quality time with both. Their booth was perpetually busy – highlighting the fact that global interest and demand in their watches is unprecedented. They literally had to bring all their watches from their Dubai Mall boutique to show visitors.

For Lange to host the Home of Precision pop-up exhibition so soon after Dubai Watch Week illustrates just how important the UAE and Middle East are to them. Both are among the largest and most dynamic watch markets in the world, catering to both local and international collectors. The Home of Precision will allow collectors – both existing and an entirely new generation – to learn more about the brand.

Lange unveiled the LANGE 1 DAYMATIC HONEYGOLD on December 7th – perhaps coinciding with the exhibition. They craft about 5000 watches a year – not much when compared to the handful of comparable brands. Having adopted a boutique-only sales model, collectors can visit their Dubai Mall boutique (and the few others worldwide) to begin a relationship directly with them.
