Norton Unveils New 450 Urban Motorcycle at EICMA 2026

Norton unveils the new 450 Urban at EICMA 2026, featuring a 454cc single-cylinder engine, two distinct versions, an aluminium frame and advanced rider assistance technology ahead of its planned 2027 sales launch.

Norton Motorcycles has introduced its 450 Urban model line at EICMA 2026. It is built as part of the British marque’s wider product expansion under TVS Motor Company. It opens up a new segment in the brand’s relatively young lineup, since it was resurrected last year and aids in its ambition to reestablish itself as a major player in the premium segment.

The new range is presented in two versions, sharing a 454cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, an aluminium frame and a comprehensive electronics package. One version adopts a road-focused design, while the other receives additional styling elements and equipment for a more rugged appearance.

Norton says the 450 Urban is developed to bring the brand’s new premium design philosophy and sophisticated engineering to a more accessible motorcycle category.

What engine powers the Norton 450 Urban?

Both versions of the Norton 450 Urban are powered by a 454cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces  46.4 hp at 8,000 rpm and 45 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter.

What are the design differences between the two Norton 450 Urban versions?

Norton has introduced two versions of the 450 Urban, both sharing the same fundamental platform but adopting different visual treatments.

The road-focused version follows a much more contemporary design language of a naked motorcycle with exposed mechanical elements and the frame. It also features 17-inch silver cast wheels, a silver frame and road-oriented tyres.

The second version receives a more rugged appearance, featuring black cast wheels, a grey frame and swingarm, extended mudguards, handguards, fork protectors, a flyscreen and distinctive seat trim. These additions give it a more rugged visual appearance.

What chassis and suspension does the Norton 450 Urban use?

Both versions are built around an aluminium frame developed specifically for the 450 Urban platform. Suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable 43mm KYB upside-down front fork and a KYB rear monoshock. The rear unit offers rebound and preload adjustment, allowing riders to tailor the suspension setup based on their requirements.

The braking system uses ByBre components, with a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, supported by cornering ABS.

What electronic features does the Norton 450 Urban offer?

The Norton 450 Urban model line-up receives a comprehensive electronics package which includes three riding modes, traction control and cruise control, all of which offer customizability, allowing riders to adjust the systems according to their preferences.

It also features dynamic LED headlights and cornering ABS. Additional equipment includes keyless ignition, smartphone connectivity and an 8-inch TFT touchscreen display.

Additional convenience features include heated grips, an integrated USB-C charging port, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a quickshifter. Adjustable brake and clutch levers.

When will the Norton 450 Urban go on sale?

Norton has announced plans to begin sales of the new 450 Urban in 2027. However, the official production model name will be revealed closer to its launch. However, the company hasn’t disclosed the pricing or specific market availability.
