Keanu Al Azhari to Become First Emirati Driver in FIA Formula 3 With Hitech

Keanu Al Azhari will become the first Emirati driver to compete in the FIA Formula 3 Championship after signing with Hitech for the 2027 season.

The 18-year-old will step up to Formula 3 after a strong progression through GB3 and Eurocup-3, continuing with the same team as he moves into the next stage of his single-seater career.

Al Azhari’s promotion also marks a first for UAE motorsport, with an Emirati driver set to compete on the Formula 1 support bill in FIA F3.

Al Azhari Continues With Hitech

The move keeps Al Azhari within an established environment.

He has already raced with Hitech across multiple junior categories, and the 2027 programme extends that relationship into one of the most competitive championships on the Formula 1 feeder ladder.

That continuity should give him a strong foundation as he adapts to a new level of machinery, race formats and competition.

For Al Azhari, the move represents the biggest step of his career so far.

Strong Results Across GB3 and Eurocup-3

Al Azhari has built momentum through a series of competitive junior campaigns.

His recent seasons have included race victories, podium finishes and pole positions, while 2026 brought one of his strongest achievements yet with the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship title.

That success followed his progression through GB3 and the main Eurocup-3 championship, where he continued to establish himself among the leading young drivers in the field.

The results have now earned him a place on the FIA Formula 3 grid.

A First for UAE Motorsport

Al Azhari’s 2027 debut will carry significance beyond his own career.

He will become the first Emirati driver to race in FIA Formula 3, bringing the UAE onto the championship grid for the first time.

With FIA F3 racing as part of the Formula 1 support programme, the move places Al Azhari on a significantly larger international stage and directly within the pathway leading towards Formula 2 and Formula 1.

It also adds another milestone to the development of Emirati motorsport talent.
