Marco Bezzecchi won the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika as Aprilia completed a remarkable top-four lockout, while Toprak Razgatlioglu retired with a mechanical problem.
Bezzecchi recovered from second at the start to take control of the race from Raul Fernandez, with Jorge Martin completing the podium and Ai Ogura climbing to fourth in the closing stages.
For Razgatlioglu, the afternoon ended early after a difficult race from the back of the field.
Fernandez Leads the Start
All riders started with a soft front and medium rear tyre combination.
Fernandez converted pole position into the lead, holding off Bezzecchi through the opening corners.
Bezzecchi settled into second, with Marc Marquez third. Martin dropped as low as sixth, while Razgatlioglu completed the opening lap in 20th.
The order began changing quickly. Fermin Aldeguer crashed on lap two, promoting Martin to fourth and Razgatlioglu to 18th. Martin then attacked Marquez and moved into third.
Bezzecchi Takes Control
The race became increasingly fragmented through the opening phase.
Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia both crashed in quick succession, while Pedro Acosta also passed Marquez to move into fourth. At the front, Bezzecchi made his move on Fernandez and took the lead. Once ahead, the Aprilia rider established control of the race. Fernandez remained in second, while Martin continued his recovery behind.
Razgatlioglu Retires Mid-Race
Razgatlioglu spent the opening half of the race working his way forward from the rear. The Turkish rider had reached 17th when his race came to an end. He returned to the pits with a mechanical problem and retired before the midpoint of the Grand Prix. It brought a difficult Mandalika weekend to an early conclusion.
Ogura Completes Aprilia Top Four
The final laps strengthened Aprilia’s control of the race.
Ogura passed both Marquez and Acosta to climb into fourth, putting four Aprilia riders at the head of the classification. Bezzecchi crossed the line first to seal victory, with Fernandez second and Martin third.
Ogura completed the top four.
Acosta followed in fifth, ahead of the Marquez brothers, while Fabio Di Giannantonio finished eighth. Mandalika ultimately became an Aprilia race from start to finish. Fernandez led the opening phase, Bezzecchi took over at the front, Martin recovered into the podium positions and Ogura completed the sweep late on.
For Aprilia, it was a dominant afternoon. For Razgatlioglu, it ended with a mechanical retirement before he could make further progress.
