Austrian motorcycle maker KTM has officially unveiled the 2027 690 Rally, a rally-styled adventure motorcycle.
What is the 2027 KTM 690 Rally?
The 2027 KTM 690 Rally is a lightweight, rally-styled adventure motorcycle positioned as a spiritual successor to the iconic 640 Adventure from the late 90s and early 20s.
The 690 Rally is built on the proven 690 Enduro R platform; the 690 adds rally-focused ergonomics, hardware and electronics, enabling the ADV motorcycle to tackle remote and unpaved territories.
What engine does the 2027 KTM 690 Rally use?
The KTM Rally is powered by KTM’s renowned 692.7cc LC4 single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine, derived from the 690 Enduro R platform. The engine produces approximately 78 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 73 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine is engineered to deliver strong low-end grunt for off-road use while maintaining enough top-end pull for highway stretches.
The engine sends power to the rear through a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slip & assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter for seamless upshifts and downshifts.
What is the total fuel tank capacity?
The 2027 KTM 690 Rally features a 20-litre total fuel capacity, split between three tanks: a 13-litre main tank plus two 3.5-litre front auxiliary tanks that are switchable on the move. The setup increases total range for remote off-road exploration where fuel stations are scarce.
What kind of frame does the 690 Rally use?
KTM 690 Rally employs a chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame, carried over from the 690 Enduro R platform. The frame is renowned for offering a balance between strength and flexibility, ideal for off-road excursions. The dry weight of the motorcycle is remarkably light for an adventure motorcycle, coming in at 161.5 kg.
What suspension components are fitted?
The 690 Rally features fully adjustable 48mm WP XPLOR USD forks with 265 mm of travel up front and a WP XPLOR monoshock with Pro-Lever linkage and 250 mm of travel at the rear. The Adventure motorcycle rides on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear, wire-spoked for durability, with a ground clearance of 265 mm.
What braking hardware is fitted?
The 690 Rally uses a 300 mm front disc with a Brembo 2-piston calliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a Brembo 1-piston calliper, assisted by dual-channel ABS.
What electronics and rider aids does it include?
The 690 Rally adventure motorcycle features a comprehensive suite of electronics, centred around a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster. The list includes two ride modes: Street and Off-road as standard, with an optional Rally mode, Cornering ABS, switchable traction control, Bi-directional quickshifter. It also comes with USB-C and 12V power sockets for charging navigation devices and electronics.

KTM 690 Rally exhibits a purpose-built, ADV-inspired styling. A few of the standout design features are a purpose-built rally tower with an integrated windshield and dual front-mounted fuel tanks, which are both functional and aesthetic – the design echoes classic rally raid machines.
Other notable design elements include rally-style number plate housing, minimalist bodywork that exposes the trellis frame and LC4 engine, wire-spoked wheels and aggressive off-road tyres.
