What is the Honda ADV 160?

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially launched its much-anticipated adventure‑styled maxi‑scooter: the ADV 160. Honda describes it as a “City Adventure” scooter, blending everyday commuting practicality with rugged adventure motorcycle characteristics.

The Adventure-styled maxi scooter is part of Honda’s 10‑product Made‑in‑India portfolio unveiled in July 2026 for the Indian market.

What are the chassis, suspension, and braking details?

The Honda ADV 160 incorporates a conventional steel underbone-type frame typical for a maxi scooter. The scooter rides on a 14‑inch front and 13‑inch rear wheels, a setup designed to balance between comfort and ability to tackle bad roads.

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, with single‑channel ABS on the front wheel.

What engine and performance figures does it have?

Powering the ADV 160 is a 156.93cc, liquid‑cooled, single‑cylinder petrol engine that is compatible with E85 fuel. The 156.93cc, single‑cylinder engine produces around 16.3 bhp and 14.9 Nm, paired with a CVT automatic transmission.

Honda ADV 160 is India’s first scooter compatible with E85 fuel. It uses Honda’s FlexTech flex‑fuel system, enabling the engine to run on any blend of fuel from regular petrol up to E85.

What are the key features and technology?

Honda ADV 160 comes equipped with segment-rich features and tech such as a 5‑inch colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and a USB charging socket.

How does the Honda ADV 160 look?

The Honda ADV 160 features a compact adventure maxi scooter styling drawing cues from Honda’s larger ADV motorcycles. Some of the styling elements unique to the ADV 160 include: an adjustable windscreen, twin LED headlamps, sharp angular body panels, a stepped seat, raised handlebar, and rugged lower cladding giving it a rugged off‑road‑inspired finish.

How much does the Honda ADV 160 cost in India?

Honda ADV 160 is priced at Rs 1.70 lakh ex‑showroom. Bookings are open with an amount of Rs 5,000, and deliveries are scheduled to begin from mid‑October 2026.

How does it compare to rivals?

At its price, the ADV 160 sits above rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160, but justifies the premium with flex‑fuel tech, a larger under‑seat boot, and a connected TFT display.
