What is the Benelli Tornado 550?
The Tornado 550 is a middleweight, fully faired sportbike from Italian motorcycle maker Benelli. The sports bike is built around a 554cc parallel twin platform, marking the Italian marque’s return to the modern supersports category.
The Tornado name has an important place in Benelli’s history. Earlier Tornado models, particularly the Tornado Tre 900, were known for their unusual engineering and Italian styling.
The middleweight superport was initially showcased at the EICMA show, before entering select European markets earlier this year. Now it has also been announced for the United States as a 2026 model through Keeway America.
What engine powers the Benelli Tornado 550?
A 554 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine powers the Benelli Tornado 550. The parallel twin makes about 56bhp at 8,250rpm and 54Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.

What chassis, suspension and brakes does the Tornado 550 use?
The Benelli Tornado 550 uses an exposed steel trellis frame, where the engine acts as a stress member of the chassis. The frame is paired to a double-sided aluminium swingarm.
At the front, the Tornado 550 uses a fully adjustable 41mm Marzocchi upside-down fork; at the rear, the middleweight supersports features a Marzocchi monoshock which offers a preload and rebound adjustment.
Braking duties are handled by Brembo hardware. Up front, the Tornado 550 gets twin 320mm semi-floating discs with radial-mount four-piston Brembo callipers. At the rear, there is a 260mm disc paired with a two-piston Brembo calliper.

What electronics and features are offered?
Benelli has equipped the Tornado 550 with a substantial electronics package, which includes a 5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, along with 2 riding modes (Normal mode & Sport mode), switchable traction control and a tyre pressure monitoring system, Full-LED lighting, Adjustable brake and clutch levers, USB charging provision, Slipper clutch and Dual-channel ABS.
What does the Tornado 550 look like?
The Benelli Tornado 550 looks dramatic with its sharp lines, layered surfaces and a front end that gives the motorcycle a distinctly aggressive face. It features a pair of LED daytime running lights that Benelli says are inspired by the fangs of a lion, a reference to the company’s historic emblem. The design of the Tornado 550 is both visual and functional.

What is the Price?
The Benelli Tornado 550’s price depends on the market. In Europe, the motorcycle has been listed from around €6,490, and in the United States, the introductory price is $5,999, but the standard MSRP is listed at $6,799 after the introductory offer.
