Michelin 24H Series Middle East Adds New Yas 12 Hours to Revised 2026/27 Calendar

The Michelin 24H Series Middle East will return with a revised calendar for the 2026/27 season, headlined by the introduction of a brand-new endurance race at Yas Marina Circuit.

The Michelin 24H Series Middle East has unveiled a revised 2026/27 calendar, with the postponed 8H Qatar replaced by the newly announced Yas 12 Hours. The championship will now feature three rounds, all hosted in the UAE.

Following the postponement of the Michelin 8H Qatar, championship organisers have confirmed the addition of the Michelin Yas 12 Hours, expanding the season opener into a new headline event and reshaping the regional endurance racing calendar.

The updated schedule means all three rounds of the 2026/27 Middle East Trophy will now take place in the United Arab Emirates, further cementing the country’s position as the region’s leading hub for international endurance racing.

The season will officially begin at Yas Marina Circuit on 12–13 December 2026, where the inaugural Yas 12 Hours will make its debut. The addition gives the championship a fresh endurance challenge at one of the Middle East’s most recognisable circuits, combining day-to-night racing with the technical demands of Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 venue.

The calendar then moves to one of global endurance racing’s most established events: the Michelin 24H Dubai, scheduled for 8–10 January 2027 at Dubai Autodrome.

The timing of the Dubai round carries additional significance. The event now occupies the same weekend originally allocated to the 2027 Gulf 12 Hours, which had been scheduled to take place at Yas Marina Circuit on 10 January.

Last week, organisers confirmed the cancellation of the 2027 Gulf 12 Hours, with the event deferred to the winter of 2027/2028. Ongoing logistical challenges and rising operational costs across the Middle East were cited as the key reasons behind the decision.

The revised Michelin 24H Series Middle East campaign will conclude just one week after Dubai, with the Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi taking place at Yas Marina Circuit on 16–17 January 2027.

The updated structure creates an intense winter endurance racing schedule, with teams facing three major events across five weeks.

For competitors, the new calendar offers a compact but demanding campaign featuring two endurance classics and an all-new 12-hour challenge. For fans, it strengthens the UAE’s role as a key destination in global GT and endurance racing, with Yas Marina and Dubai Autodrome once again forming the backbone of the region’s winter motorsport season.
