Jaguar’s New Electric 4-Door GT: Inspired By Classic Jaguar DNA

Jaguar’s new all-electric four-door GT combines hypercar performance with the brand’s classic DNA, inspired by icons like the Jaguar E-Type.

Jaguar is redefining its future with an all-electric four-door GT that combines heritage-inspired dynamics with cutting-edge EV performance. Developed by revisiting icons like the Jaguar E-Type and Jaguar XJ Coupe V12, this new GT promises over 1,000hp and a distinctly “Jaguar” driving feel.

What Powers The New Jaguar Electric GT?

The GT uses a tri-motor electric setup producing over 986hp and more than 1,300Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful Jaguars ever developed.

An advanced torque vectoring system distributes power instantly across wheels, improving traction, cornering precision, and overall driving engagement. The embedded software responds in as little as one millisecond, ensuring immediate power delivery and precise control under all driving conditions.

What Suspension Setup Does The Jaguar GT Use?

It features dynamic air suspension paired with twin-valve active dampers to balance ride comfort and performance. The GT is engineered to deliver both engaging dynamics and refined ride quality, maintaining composure even under the most aggressive driving conditions.

Its dynamics are heavily influenced by classics like the Jaguar XJS and Jaguar XJ Series I, known for combining power with long-distance comfort.

What Does The Jaguar GT Look Like?

It combines a long bonnet and low roofline, maintaining Jaguar’s classic proportions while adapting to styling typical of a futuristic EV. Unlike most EVs, it avoids a cab-forward design, instead emphasising traditional GT proportions inspired by models like the Jaguar XK120.

Interior & Driving Experience

The cabin is designed to “shrink around the driver,” offering a cocooned, driver-focused environment with high comfort for long-distance travel. The GT combines high-performance driving with refined luxury, delivering both excitement and relaxation in a single package.

How Was The Jaguar GT Developed?

Jaguar engineers studied historic models and conducted extensive real-world and virtual testing across extreme conditions globally. In addition, Jaguar’s engineers experienced legendary cars from the brand’s back-catalogue before designing and engineering the car.

Jaguar engineers drove the XK120, E-type, XJ Coupe V12, XJS, and XJ Series I. Each offered a visceral demonstration of the brand’s journey over the decades and gave engineers a taste of what the new Jaguar GT should look and feel like.

What Makes The Jaguar GT’s Technology Unique?

It features in-house propulsion systems and advanced software integration, aiming to deliver a distinct driving feel unlike typical electric cars. It sits in the ultra-luxury electric GT segment, combining performance, luxury, and long-distance capability.

Key rivals include the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Tesla Model S Plaid, and Lucid Air Sapphire.

When Will The New Jaguar GT Be Revealed?

The global reveal is scheduled for September 2026. Pricing and market rollout details have not yet been announced. Jaguar has yet to disclose the production location.
