What happened in Jeddah?
Jaguar TCS Racing had a big weekend at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. António Félix da Costa won his first race with the team. Mitch Evans fought from thirteenth to seventh. Together, they gave Jaguar its 24th Formula E win. That makes Jaguar the most successful team in the championship.
Da Costa started third. He managed energy well and used ATTACK MODE at the right time. He built a gap and stayed in control until the end. Evans used smart overtakes and energy management to climb into the points.
It was also a Jaguar powertrain one‑two. Sébastien Buemi finished second for customer team Envision Racing.
On night one, Pascal Wehrlein won with perfect timing on PIT BOOST and ATTACK MODE. Evans took third. On night two, da Costa delivered his masterclass.

How did it feel live?
Formula E feels different in person. The cars don’t roar. They whine and howl. You hear tyres scrubbing and the crowd reacting. On a street track like Jeddah, the speed looks unreal.
Fans weren’t just cheering overtakes. They were watching energy levels and pit stops. Everyone became a strategist for the night.
What made this race special?
This season introduced PIT BOOST. It’s a mandatory rapid‑charge pit stop. In Jeddah, it added tension. Teams had to choose between stopping early and waiting to attack later. Da Costa’s timing showed how strategy wins races.
Evans had already taken third on Friday. Da Costa’s Saturday win gave Jaguar two podiums in two nights.

What did the team take away?
Da Costa felt the car and strategy gave him confidence. Winning so early in his time with Jaguar showed strong momentum.
Evans proved resilience. His climb from thirteenth to seventh showed how smart energy use can change a race.
For Team Principal Ian James, the weekend showed precision and teamwork. Two podiums in two nights and two wins in three races proved Jaguar’s consistency.
Where does this leave the championship?
Mitch Evans is 5th in the Drivers’ standings. António Félix da Costa is now 7th. Jaguar TCS Racing is 2nd in the Teams’ Championship. Jaguar also holds 2nd in the Manufacturers’ standings.

Why does it matter beyond racing?
Formula E is more than a show. It’s a test bed for electric car technology. Regeneration, fast charging, and smarter software all feed into road cars. Jaguar’s work with TCS helps turn race data into real‑time decisions and future innovations.
The next‑generation GEN4 car arrives in 2026/27. It will bring more power and efficiency, keeping energy use at the centre of the sport.
Formula 1 is also pushing towards cleaner speed. Its future rules keep hybrid systems and add 100% sustainable fuels. Different paths, same goal: faster and cleaner racing.
I left Jeddah convinced: Formula E is already shaping the future. It makes efficiency exciting, strategy visible, and speed sustainable.

What’s next?
Jaguar TCS Racing now heads to Madrid for the inaugural E‑Prix on March 21, 2026. It will also be da Costa’s 150th Formula E race. The team carries strong momentum into the next round.
