ADNOC Distribution Launches Major EV Charging Hub On UAE’s E11 Highway

ADNOC Distribution has opened one of the world’s largest superfast electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs and outlined a plan to expand EV infrastructure across UAE highways by 2027.

ADNOC Distribution, a prominent mobility and convenience network in the UAE, has inaugurated a new high-capacity electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The hub is one of the six largest in the world and the largest in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, and by 2027, The company is hoping to expand EV charging infrastructure across major UAE highways, supporting long-distance EV travel and national electrification targets.

What are the features of the new EV Megahub?

The EV Megahub includes 60 high-speed charging points capable of charging most electric vehicles from 0 per cent to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes. It is strategically located along the E11 highway, a key corridor connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It represents the first commuter-focused “The Hub by ADNOC” site, combining EV charging with amenities such as food, retail, and coworking spaces. The hub’s footprint is approximately three times that of traditional service stations, efficiently accommodating both charging and travel needs.

How will ADNOC expand highway EV infrastructure?
By 2027, ADNOC Distribution plans to establish 20 electric vehicle charging centres, with 15 of them expected to open by the end of this year. This network aims to cover all major highways in the UAE, enabling seamless intercity travel using electric vehicles. This initiative aligns with national goals for the transition to electric mobility and expanding charging access for both private and commercial vehicles.

What is the UAE’s national EV strategy?

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure aims to have 50% of vehicles on UAE roads be battery-electric by 2050. ADNOC Distribution is supporting this strategy through its E2GO network, which currently operates over 400 charging points and aims to reach up to 750 by 2028. Expanding the EV infrastructure is intended to facilitate the broader adoption of electric vehicles and support sustainable mobility initiatives.

How does the new hub support commuters and travellers?

The Saih Shuaib Megahub is the first “The Hub by ADNOC” location purpose-built for commuters. It integrates EV charging with food and lifestyle offerings, along with a coworking space for travellers needing a temporary work environment. This approach reflects ADNOC’s effort to combine convenience and functional services for long-distance road users, making EV travel more practical across the UAE.

The Saih Shuaib EV Megahub is operational as of early 2026, and ADNOC Distribution intends to continue expanding its highway EV infrastructure through the E2GO network. Pricing for charging sessions is aligned with standard E2GO tariffs, and hubs will be accessible to all EV users. This rollout complements ADNOC’s existing network of over 560 service stations across the UAE, ensuring scalable and sustainable infrastructure expansion.
